People have to remember that we have Keller as well, when talking about people to throw to, often people leave the guy out. He is a catching machine, anything over the middle, he will go and get. I think Cotch can do well as a possession guy, i like Stuckey in the slot but we need someone on the outside with speed, so that might be why people mention Clowney ahead of Stuckey, Cotch as the one (until next years draft), then Clowney as the two with Stuckey in the slot and Keller coming from the end. I don't think it is as bad as some may believe, plus we have some other guys like Henry who might surprise. One guy that may come out in the draft next season that might be worth keeping an eye on, Golden Tate out of ND, little on the short side, but has good hands and speed to burn.

Trade for Boldin and our WR depth goes from putrid to solid.

The Ravens have a very good WR in Derrick Mason who even though is in his 30s is better than any Jets WR. Plus the Ravens Defense is better than what the Jets have.

Trade what? a #1 next year? even then you have to give him a new contract, to do that you have to get a bunch of guys to restructure. in addition with only 3 picks this year the cheap young backups that are so important in the NFL aren't going to be well stocked, and trading away future picks will make it worse. The draft is how teams like the ravens and patriots do so well and always seem to have a guy ready to step in when a starter is injured or leaves in free agency.

these are the guys im interested in...thinking about it now i think adding Marvin Harrison would be a good move since we have a rookie in Sanchez....Harrison knows what it takes to build chemistry and create fluidity....he could also teach a thing or two to cotch and clowney and would still command some attention although hes not what he used to be...

my #1 move is trading for Boldin which i think is possible since we drafted a RB and IMO TJ is now on his way out...

That wasn't an impressive list of WRs. I would give Keary Colbert a shot just cuz he looked so good in college.

There's a reason these guys are free agents...their teams didn't want them. Even Marvin Harrison, one of the best WRA of all tome and sure HOF is not wanted. I think Marvin is done. I've seen that movie and I'm sure you saw it too. It's called "The Art Monk Story" This team needs to find young, hungry and fast WRs who can help this team now. Not yesterday's news.

If we do stick with who we have, at least Cotch is a sure-handed guy who will give Sanchez some short and intermediate options with the odd chance to toss it deep, Keller will be able to get separation to give him some easy completions over the middle, and Stuckey will be easy to hit out of the slot on the dink and dunks....

I really think Clowney is going to be our #1. The guy catches everything and is quick as hell.
I think he is going to be one of the biggest surprises this season.

Stuckey is pretty solid also. I think with those 2 and Keller and Cotch, along with Smith every now and then we will have a really good core of recievers on offense.

William Franklin was pretty good at Mizzou. I'd give him a shot.

Roddy White is a legit #1 and an elite receiver. He gets no love from the media and there is no hype or celebrity surrounding him, but anybody who follows football knows he's broken out these last 2 years. Just look at the numbers.

Too bad the Cardinals drafted Beanie Wells we could have packaged Thomas Jones and his Lavernues Coles like attitude with a draft pick....

Everyone is begging for a stud WR but there are other ways to win football games. You dont need a 6-4 220lb WR to have a good passing game. Granted this year we will be playing a lot of "dink and dunk" but it doesnt mean we're screwed. I'd love a Boldin type guy as much as anyone but I'm not fearing going into the season without one.

    Jones
    Washington
    Cotch
    Keller
    etc...

And with our o-line...I dont hate our chances at being a conservative but productive offense.

That list shows us that there are capable free agents to be had if we need them. But right now we don't need them. What you look for in a receiver is a guy who can catch the ball, runs good routes, and can create a bit of separation from a man defender. From what we've seen the four top guys we have can do that. Although Brad Smith does need to step up his game and become a more productive receiver. He needs to hold on to more balls thrown his way and do a bit more after the catch. If the Jets do go for a verteran WR it will be because Smith fails to step up.
