didnt see the john brown thing. Jordy will probably go to a contender (probably NE ) but its a bare crop of WR out there
Yeah he's nothing like Hack at all, that's just lazy. Guy played in pro style system, in the elements, good under Center and in play action, extends plays, throws great on the run, and can pick up chunk yardage running when needed. Intangibles through the roof. Will be tough to stop in short yardage and is a threat to throw a TD from anywhere on the field. Cam Newton and Big Ben are realistic comparisons. Expect him to go top 5. That's not something anyone ever said about Hack.
I'm fan of winning and getting to the playoffs. Be honest, Dorsey is kicking Mac's ass so far this off-season. You won't be honest about that though. You are a very smart and well spoken poster, but from my reading your post the majority of the time you come off like a front office apologist. That's cool. Hope I'm wrong and the Jets are heading in the right direction, but color me very underwhelmed by Mike Maccagnan this off-season so far. He is extremely risk averse. That's not my philosophy. He GM's like our coach manages games.
Dorsey was the guy I wanted when we hired that fool Idzik. He's got a really good eye for talent. Browns may have finally got the GM right. I don't think Mac is that bad tho. This offseason is huge for him, and FA has just been ok so far.
yawn. neither is Cam Newton, but he's pretty effective. come up with a better argument and a better insult. Or better yet, actually watch some film of him play.
Philly is shopping Kendricks. I’d trade a 4th or 5th in a heartbeat for him and put Lee’s ass on the bench
Not sure this is a surprise though. Whether you agree or disagree with Colin Kaepernick's stances on social issues, teams do not want to deal with that stuff. With how the sociopolitical sphere is now in America, NFL teams want to keep the focus on the product on the field and not on external issues that are permeating the game. The viewership was down league wide, and I'm sure owners are not going to wholeheartedly sign on to affect their own businesses by endorsing someone like Kapernick as their starting QB, let alone their backup QB.
If true, Maccagnan should be fired immediately. If Macc and Bowles think they won't be able to acquire a QB through the draft, and trading up is scaring them, then they need to be let go. 4 years in and they have not done anything meaningful with the QB situation. Enough is enough, go get a QB. This fanbase is not going to allow another year of Josh McCown to happen without shit hitting the fan.
He also does not throw with anticipation, has not shown ability to read defenses, has poor mechanics, and if course accuracy issues. He is a major project. Maybe not as big as Hack. He is a 4th round talent wrapped in a 1st round body. He has 1st round arm strength but 4th round arm talent. He looks like a bust and not a QB many will consider in the 1st rd. Cosels said it best when he called him Scout Catnip. He looks pretty but lacks substance. I have no risking a 2nd pick on probable bust QB with potential like Allen but never a 1st.
Good questions as to why they aren't pushing for Jensen. I hope that they at least spoke with his agent. Maybe he wants too much money, or maybe he's better in a man/power scheme rather than the zone scheme the Jets will be using.
Freedom of government interference in speech is an inviolable right under the Constitution. Until the NFL officially becomes the government NFL venues have no guaranteed freedom of speech when the private event that is an NFL football game takes place. This is why offensive banners (and the offense can be just to the ownership of the team in question) are routinely removed by security - even if they obstruct no sight lines. Colin Kaepernick created a situation that negatively impacted his employers and his profession by choosing to exercise a right that he did not actually possess (or that was not clearly defined) and he is paying the price for doing that, since no employer is likely to hire somebody that they feel might negatively impact the bottom line. I don't see how he gets out of this without apologizing for the turmoil and vowing not to let it happen again and I don't see him able to make those concessions. No way out is my guess.
