Yeah, but that QB isn't very good imo. The Bears must have had more cap space than I thought to sign both Robinson and Burton.
That's a sad situation to be in. I fully understand your point, and wouldn't be upset if they did, but from what we've heard, that seems unlikely. Looks like Mac has been in disguise as Idzik 2.0 all this time lol
I think a potential problem with mac signing cousins is in how free agency is shaping up. IF the jets even get a visit what's Mac's pitch gonna be... "see Kirk we really fortified the offence since last year and added ohhh .....NOBODY"
Well, the possible silver lining in this is if Mac fails to sign any FA other than Teddy or McCown, loses ASJ, and perhaps some of their other FAs that they wanted to keep, and the Jets wind up having to pay a huge fine to the NFL, Mac will get fired, and we'll be rid of him. Not much to get excited over when we have so many needs, but at least some reason for hope.

Or were the Vikings confident enough to tell Keenum to find another deal? I honestly don't get why everyone thinks the Vikings were desperate after losing Keenum. He's not that much better than their other incumbents. He's just younger and healthier.
I meant after this season as I doubt the Johnsons would do anything before then. It's still early, but he probably should be fired before the draft if he fails to significantly address our needs and make a big dent in the $89-$90 million (whatever it is) that we have to spend this year or by next year. The problem would be, however, if he was to be fired before the draft, who would run the draft. I could see Bowles getting that job, only increasing his power here, and you know he'd probably pick 8 defensive players.
Having nothing on offense is really hurting the FA hunt. No FA thinks this team can compete. If the lack of QB is stopping Mac from getting any FAs to sign (which it appears to be), then perhaps he should consider just signing Bridgewater now and getting the OL and receivers that the Jets absolutely need to run a competent offense.
