What this FA period should show Jets fans is it's not just a matter of the saying, "Oh, we have all this money, Let's go sign a bunch of All-Pros and get to the SB". Nor is drafting to upgrade the team so easy as some have said as "Well, we'll just trade up and get our FQB". SOme fans here have very unrealistic expectations, like they're playing Madden and can get whomever they want. That's not reality. Reality is that the Jets will be lucky to get some upgrades via FA, and will experience fantastic luck if they can get their FQB in the draft. If those things happen, good progress will have been made, but they may still not make the playoffs this year. OTOH, Macc could completely screw the pooch, and given his record so far it wouldn't surprise me.
But again, there's TANKING and there's "tanking". The former is the unscrupulous laying down and losing on purpose. The latter is putting out a team that you know will likely lose, but may well learn and grow into something that can be built upon. The Jets had that option last year and blew it for the sake of 2 or 3 more wins. I sure hope Jets fans celebrated that great accomplishment.
You said it man! Not like there weren’t plenty of folks saying just that.As much as Mccown defied expectations & as bad as Hack/Petty looked was it worth it to get where we are at this very moment? I think many would prefer the higher pick right now.Our HC stoically thinks otherwise even beyond the realm of keeping his job. Everyday I grow more & more certain he wants more defense at 6.
it's not a big deal. neither of them stops us from drafting a QB and it's much better then a full season of petty or hack. regardless we need to sign a vet QB no matter what.
Can't fathom how you think this when they already tore down by cutting all the vets and recently dumping Wilkerson and Forte. There's nothing to tear down , and if they attempted it , it would be with another regime.

The Jets did put out a team that would likely lose, and they did learn and grow and actually win a couple. sorry if that bothers you guys that insist on losing. there will be some in this fan base that complain no matter what.
