If Spiller doesn't turn out....what about Bush? Similar styles and attributes. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...gie-bushs-future-with-lions-is-up-in-the-air/
Huge fan of patrick willis, id love him as a jet. With bowman coming back and chris borlands promising rookie season i could see san fran not wanting to pay willis
Being more practical here, Demayrius Thomas, Dez Bryant, Ndamakong Suh, Devin Mccourty, and Justin Houston are all off limits with the tag. My FA List includes: Randall Cobb CJ Spiller Antonio Cromartie or Byron Maxwell If the Jets can get those guys, they will be in good shape. WR and CB problem is at least addressed in this scenario. Still questions surrounding LBs, but there's a plethora of options there (as well as in the draft). I like Jace Amaro at TE, I think it's a waste to go get Julius Thomas. Percy Harvin will most likely be gone (and by our luck be on the patriots next year). I like Ivory at RB but CJ Spiller will be able to help more than Chris Johnson ever could. There's still issues at Corner even with CRO or Byron but I am crossing my fingers that Revis comes back and/or the Jets draft a CB high.
Would take AJ Hawk over David Harris Would take CJ Spiller over Reggie Bush Would take Reggie Bush over Chris Johnson Would take Percy Harvin same deal over releasing him with no plan Would take Randall Cobb over Percy Harvin Point is, it's a long off season with a lot of options to improve our team.
I'm not entirely sure where this stigma comes from that he's old and injured. The guys been an all pro 5 out of his 7 years in the pros and prior to this year he's missed 6 games in 6 years including a ton of playoff games the 3 years prior to this one. He's an absolute tank and a huge upgrade over Harris. I'd give him Harris old contract in the blink of an eye.
Before or after this incident at Walmart gets cleared up? It could be nothing but Schefter said he saw the tape and it was bad.
Noteable re-signs include David Harris & Bilal Powell. Ryan Fitzpatrick - QB ---- had his best years under Chan Gailey in Buffalo. CJ Spiller RB ---- < see above reason>. Clint Boling OG --- 2yrs younger than Iupati & will cost a hell of a lot less. Byron Maxwell or Kareem Jackson (CB). Would prefer a bigger Maxwell with press-coverage, but Jackson has more than a year's worth of experience. Relatively same age. Jackson has the MacCaggnan link. Antonio Cromartie CB --- wants to come back to NY and wants to reunite with Bowles (under whom he had his best seasons). I believe he's got 2 solid seasons left, - his old teammates would like him back. Win Win Win. Wont cost THAT much. Jabaal Sheard OLB - I believe Worilds will get WAY overpaid. Sheard is not yet 26yrs old & I believe he will THRIVE on this D with Wilkerson & Richardson. We dont need to break the bank to get Worilds (Justin Houston will be franchised). Some of you are probably saying 2 CBs??? By choosing Sheard instead of Worilds and Boling instead of Iupati, --- we save a ton of money that allows us to bring in Cromartie as well. We MUST bring in either Maxwell or Jackson. Cromartie a luxury item with the savings.
Are we talking 1 on 1 or are we talking football? Harris wants way too much money as a slow 2 down MLB, would much rather have Hawk on a much cheaper deal.
