That's dirty!?!? Gimmee a f'in break. What happens if he whiffs on the play? Mehta writes how Cro is back to ole days of SD. Who is the player on the far right that was down (not Hill)?
I really wouldnt go crazy about it if Cro ever played like that in an actual NFL game. Some might point out a few surprisingly aggressive tackles last year but for the most part...he will do anything he can to not be in arms length to have to make a tackle. So I guess good? that he is using practice? as a lauching pad to make more tackles? in an actual NFL game.
Stupidly I took Manish Mehta's word for it, before there was video of the hit. That was a good, hard hit, but it wasn't "helmet to helmet" Manish Mehta, you lying sack of shit.
That definitely didn't look like a helmet to helmet hit. It did look like a shitty tackle, though. Wrap the fucking guy up already. He didn't have his body in position to compensate for a possible miss, he was completely focused on the showboat hit. Cro needs to get his head out of his ass.
Its amazing that this team cant even get a good reporter to follow them in a newspaper like that. His nonsense is getting to the point of absurd journalism. Horrible stories filled with controversy that doesn't exist...I really liked him in the beginning? I mean I think I did or perhaps he was just a breath of fresh air from the previous asshole? Not sure..but he sucks.
Exactly Abyz..not a helmet to helmet and the kind of tackle that during the regular season, the guy maintains his footing and goes in for a touchdown and the play by play guys scream "why didnt he wrap him up!" You see guys attempting to make tackles like that all the time with about 70% accuracy and the other 30% staying on their feet for a huge gain.
Don't get me wrong, I love living in the information age, but there are just WAY too many media outlets in today's world. Why are individual practice plays making news? Unless there is an injury or some other relevant development that effects the team long term (as in beyond this second). . . who gives a fuck?
More than likely he posted good articles to get on our good graces - then immediately he turned on us when he had the "fan-base" established. Didn't Cimini do the same thing pretty much? I just want a beat writer that anaylzes football and talks about how players are performing, I don't care about this "hit" or some media cards. What a dick riding bitch - these half-assed articles don't even deserve to be published and this guy doesn't deserve to get paid the money he prob receives
That's exactly the type of stuff I mean, and thanks for expounding, jaywayne. What the HELL is the purpose of showboating a half assed hit in camp against your teammates? What the hell does that prove? It's stupid. But back to your point, camp is the way players should refine their techniques in preparation for the big games. That play didn't display to me that Cro is physical. It displayed that he still has no real intent to improve his technique. This is why I will miss Revis. That guy would tackle someone with perfection. He'd go for the bend of the knees, pull them away from the body's momentum, and then turn the body toward the ground. The most fundamental tackling corner I have seen in my lifetime. Plus his approach to cover is flawless. People seem to think that Cro is a decent replacement. No team would target Revis like they will Cromartie this season. Our only real hope is that the defensive line is as good as we dream of it.
I agree with this, although my main issue is with Twitter. Basically, we have these "camp" threads where fans post tweets from idiot sports writers and basically decide the state of the team based on those very un-detailed accounts. And then we have a hundred knee-jerk posts about what some moron writer who has played zero seconds of football thinks about what happened. It's really stupid. Now, I will go back to overreacting about a tweet about Cro making a hit in a video that makes him look about the size of an ant on my phone. Please excuse me.
I dont really want Cro to be a headhunter. That was never his game anyway. Biggest reason being with all these new rules that are being implemented to protect WR's these days, hes gonna get called on these "Big Hits". Helmet to Helmet shot? 15 yard penalty. Not worth it.
