Why do I want Favre back? Because I'm scared of the prospect of Kellen Clemens being our starting quarterback next year

I'd rather have Clemens. He's more mobile. The rest of their attributes pretty much cancel each other out. Both rocket arms, both make idiotic decisions. Could care less about Favre's experience; the last 5 games of this season make it crystal clear to me what level Favre plays at at this stage in his career. You are blind if you think he is a good NFL QB at this point.

Clearly lots of pieces that were added to the team helped improve our record by 6. This team was going to win more games no matter what this season.

Bring back Favre for one year but we must draft a QB in Rd 1. Trade up if we have to, look at the Ravens and Falcons this year. They are set for the next decade with these guys. Understanding there is always a Ryan Leaf out there the Jets have no other option but to get a franchise QB in the draft.

It would be GREAT for that QB to get one year of mentoring with the great Brett Favre, that is the one that played up until Dec.

There won't be any QB's worth looking at in free agency now that McNabb will most likely be staying put in Phi since they made the playoffs.

Clemens sucks yes, but the sooner we go through Clemens the sooner we get to Ratlif, who I think is our most promissing candidate at QB at this point.

    B. Favre is a dead end.

I'd take an old broken down Favre over Kellen Clemens anyday. That kid had a chance to shine and ended up showing diddly-squat. Favre may have played horribly down the stretch, but he also was the QB that put the team on his shoulders and led those drives against NE to beat them. It's a coin flip whether he'll show up next year as Favre the Legend or Favre the Old Bum. I'd rather take my risk with that than Clemens at this point.

Not that I think Clemens is the answer or anything... but he had no oline and no runninggame when he was given his chance. Look what Pennington did in 07 with that garbage team and what he did in 08 with a better oline. I'd love to give Ratliff a look. I think the Favre experiment needs to end.

Favre is 40, sucks dead monkey cock at the end of a season which is proven by his horrid end of the year stats, every season inclusive of the last 4. Goodbye, good riddance and do not let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!

Well he did win 9 games, a pretty rare feet for the Jets. Also, he is better than Clements, Ratliff, Ainge, any QB you are going to get in the Draft at 17 and and he is also better than any FA QB out there. I'll take 40 year Favre over Kerry "Tom" Collins any day of the week. Is he the answer, no, but I don't see an easy upgrade here.

Get Vick, but that is just my opinion. Still young. Still more talent than any other QB in the league. Would consider that before I would consider Favre.

I want Farve back because there is no one else out there. We are not getting Cassell, the Pats will keep him. No other available quarterbacks are favorable. With a new coach comes a new quarterback. However, this is a win-now team, and no rookie is going to be trusted to come in and start right away. And, picking 17th, who knows if we will be able to get the QB in the draft that we want, anyway. So basically, I want to keep Farve by default.

For JETS fans There's only 2 possible reasons to want Favre back.

1- EGO. There's no way you can lose the Chad v Favre 2 years in a row. In their minds Favre HAS to come back and outplay Penny just so they won't be wrong.

2- They ran out and bought themselves or the family Favre Jerseys and can't believe what's happened.

So I guess it boils down to ego.

A team that would rather see him as a receiver needs to have there head examined, but then considering that those word were from a reporter instead of players says everything. I think Players would rather see him as a QB, but then again what do they know. We fans know it all. Including all those who bought Favre Jerseys.
Oh yeah Cowher just told the Jets to take a hike. This franchise is a joke and anyone with eyes can see that

Favre has NOT won one game for us this season. You'd have to be blind to think that he had.
He was an albatross for us. He is DONE!

    Scared?

So you go with a washed up 40 year old. Can Kellen turn the ball over 23 times?
