I get that. I agree with the concept. But, what's 'brutal' about it? Are we traveling to the west coast three weeks in a row? No, we play NFL teams perceived to be better than us. Which teams have 'easy' schedules? The good teams. When we become good, our schedule magically becomes less brutal. Unless of course we get a London game against the Eagles followed six days later by a Mexico City game against the Rams. the 1976 Jets had a brutal schedule: First six games on the road. Or was it seven?
I'm with you on this. It's just a schedule. We won't know if it was brutal until we see how good all the teams are this year.
1st if, loading up on talent. Well the entire roster has been turned over. And that’s literally the only of in my post. And he’s, most fans wanted Saleh. When he was allowed to go home and think it over most of the fan base shlt itself thinking he would be lost. Guess the 99%. U bet was so obviously an exaggeration that it slipped past you. If you don’t want me to address your post, don’t quote my post and comment on it.
Because most Jets schedules are brutal, the one time we didn't have a brutal schedule we still managed to lose to two teams that had not won a game all season. Gase was so bad he couldn't even look this gift horse in the mouth.
Eh, why are we using what our fanbase wanted as the barometer of a good move? Not singling out anyone here but our fanbase is generally very dumb. Saleh was a questionable hire at the time. Look at his defenses from his time with the 49ers - they weren't even that good other than one year. Saleh legitimately got the job because he's high energy and good with people. Those things are great but they aren't primarily what makes someone a good football coach. Our fans went goo goo gah gah over Saleh getting pumped on the sidelines. That was legitimately one of the main arguments for hiring him according to a lot of our fans. It was asinine at the time and it's asinine now. Keep in mind this is the same fanbase who generally wanted to keep Darnold the third year, thought Mac was an incredible GM, didn't think Becton's weight was a concern, and only just recently admitted that the 2020 draft sucked. Jets fans, as a whole, are generally far more likely to have a consensus dumb opinion than a consensus smart one. Our fanbase is just about as behind the curve on modern NFL trends as the franchise itself.
"If" he loads up on talent, we'll see it on game day. We all know what Douglas has done, whether or not he has "loaded up on the talent" that can perform at a higher level than those they replace will be determined on the gridiron, not the message boards. The Jets roster has been turned over so many times there are former fans turning over in their graves; Leon Hess positively spins. You can decide for yourself how you felt about Saleh being hired but don't attribute your feelings to anyone other than yourself. Do you not remember at all the discussions about hiring a rookie vs. a veteran coach and offensive vs. defensive because a new QB would be on the way? Those discussions predated and postdated his hiring and continue today. Your 99% is not even close but your claim is close minded. Check your own pants - mine are clean. I reply to messages and I use quotes where appropriate; you, on the other hand attribute ideas that others have not written. Dumping either Saleh or Douglas has nothing to do with any idea I have posted or campaigned for. Criticizing the work of both is legitimate banter here regardless of how many here strive to stifle such conversation.
If you look at what those bad takes have in common, it's really just homerism. The names change, the homerism never does.
Except you town doesn't operate off an 8-letter alphabet and I'm sure that even your yogurt 'has culture'
We live in an age where allegiance to individuals is greater than being incorrect. As a JD fan and knowing this is long term I can give the extra time... but living is some alternate reality in order to escape accountability?Nah...there's too much of that crap going on.
This may sound weird, but I thought the individual talent look much improved. We have solid receivers, RBs look good and the D was flying before they got gassed. Yes the Oline is struggling, Fant got his shit pushed in today. MLF and Saleh are falling on the sword today.
