Matt Cavanaugh can act anything he want's... when it comes to actually playing the game, there is ZERO experience at the position on the roster...NEVER a good thing. And if "it" (another QB) comes from the draft, it's a wasted pick... this entire year's clas of QB's is a bunch of garbage... Glad we saved all those draft picks to waste em!!
It is time for the Qb's we have to play. At some point the light bulb has to go on like it does with every other Franchise regarding letting our Young Guys play. We should have found up what we had in Clemens years ago.
How is drafting a QB a wasted pick? I hear this every year on this board and it is ridiculous every time. We should have drafted Cutler 3 years ago and we wouldn't be worrying about drafting another one now. Of course at the time we heard that it would be a wasted pick also. Also your claim that the entire class of Qbs is garbage is just as ridiculous. Both Stafford and Sanchez are legit franchise Qb prospects and some of the later round guys have some potential as well.
This year it is... thats MY opinion of this years QB's. Picking Freeman at 17 or so... is in my eyes a wasted pick. I like next years group of Quarterbacks much better than this years, as a whole. So.. outside of the 2 you stated, who won't be available at # 17, pickin a QB in this draft is a wasted pick...period.
Along the lines of this conversation, who says you "need" a veteran QB? Ask the Cowboys last season how Brad Johnson did when Romo was hurt? Now I'm not saying to have 3 rookies on the roster but if QB has been in a system for a while, I would consider that more valuable than getting a retread, fading veteran that would most likely contribute nothing once called upon to play. Matt Cassel comes to mind. Not a vet but in the system.
