I am 1st row UD NYJ side of the field in 310. Yes McC is totally unfeared by the other side so he is classified by me as useless. Sauer cause he opted out early would never be considered for the HOF but since he is out not in he falls into the good catagory. Just look in existence since 60 & only 2 players in the HOF both from the 60s that says all you ever want to say as to why we have been losers for so long while teams like Pitt, Dallas & SF have 5 SBs win each on there belts.
Maybe for you but it takes time to become a good NFL player and I give younger players more leniency than I would a veteran. I guess you will gove mangini this year to perform or else we should fire him?
You have great seats..elevated near the 50 yard line. I'm in row 12 on the 50 and I think they are fabulous way to watch the game. Our personnel decisions are self evident in that we only have 2 #s and one old coach's jacket on the wall. Although I think a healthy Klecko was certainly HOF calibur.
Yes I consider muself a purist & IMHO to enjoy FB the higher the better. You can actually see the play unfolding & can also see the results of it before it is over. Thanks for the kudos.. As for Klecko I am a tad harsher as my brain thinks of ALL those off side penalties called on him. I have other radical theroies so when U have time PM me or Email me @ championjets69@yahoo.com & we can swap old time stories
With everything that is going on right now, next year's record is at the bottom of my list. Mangini gets a one year pass even if we go 0-16, which we definitely will not. Things should start to materialize in year 2. That means we have a fighting chance at a playoff berth that year, that's it. Mangini was given an enormous mess to clean up in New York. Edwards inherited a reasonably economically healthy team with a good nucleus of talent. Mangini comes into this thing with the near spectral opposite. I always admire somebody when I get to see how they perform with their ass against the wall in terms of pressure and responsibility. That's where Mangini is right now. If he actually, navigates us through the current storm, I will have tremendous respect for him.
So would I & I also think him & MT have the savvy to do it. I would disagree that we make a run next year however as we really truly need a nuclear bomb to clean up the mess. If we retain such players as Barton/Barrett/Hobson/Reed just to name a few then we know that he could not get upgrades for them this year which makes them next years projects
This will be my last comment on Herm Edwards. "I wouldn't give him the sweat off my balls in the middle of a desert."
Hey champ...you didnt answer my question. Not picking on you..but im curious. You state that the jets dont have one quality player on the current roster..if thats the case... If the Jets had "zero quality players" how did the Jets get to the playoffs and almost the AFC championship game? Great coaching? So if there were "zero quality players", then i suspect you believe this Herm Edwards fella did some job with no players......no? As you can see..I always have had a major problem with this issue with you. I agree with you on most topics...but I would love to hear your answer to this one.
It's all misinformation on the part of the media, television stations, and the NYJ mgt. In order to keep from chaos and anarchy breaking out all over NY, they created the illusion that the Jets were in the playoffs 3 out of 5 years. How else can you explain the phenonomen (sp?).
The worst thing about the Steelers winning the SB this year, aside from my hatred of Bettis, is that now anytime someone tries to make the argument that getting into the playoffs as the 5th or 6th seed basically gives you no chance to win the SB, people will break out in a chorus of "BUT THE STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". This is similar to the tactic that mental midgets use bringing up Trent Dilfer when someone says that having a top flight QB is essential to playoff success. Your question basically boils down to what you consider a "quality player". Champ seems to have much higher standards for this criteria then others on the board, so while in his estimation the Jets have zero quality players, there are probably a large number of teams in the league that also have zero quality players. Given Champ's standards I don't find anything inconsistent about him saying a team that made it to the second round of the playoffs is devoid of quality players. Of course since it is such a clear cut issue of quality/non-quality it doesn't really mean anything to anyone on the outside looking in attempting to judge a team's strength.
Just watch the actual NBC telecast of SB3 & you will then understand what I mean by quality players. I also defined quality in another post on this thread to another poster
Nah third...I wouldnt use the Steeler line. The point with Champ though is this. If what you just wrote is accurate, its truly impossible to discuss roster moves with him. If thats the case..then the Panthers...the Giants....the Broncos...even the Colts..have no quality players on their team. You can discuss Jet failures with champ...you can discuss past history with champ...but you cant discuss free agent signings etc..unless they are coming from a team that won the superbowl. Champ will respond on "what part of the Jets not having quality players dont you understand". Then I would ask him if the Colts have any quality players.
LOL....ok...that white thing hanging off the stick is called a flag...just for my own mental state. And the following year...sb4...those players still with the jets were no longer quality I take it....gotchya
I told you when the NYJs have a quality player I will dial U up immediately. As a fan U just cannt come to the conclusion that we have non championship players IMHo cause you root for the team. Rooting for the team & analyzing there weaknesses is like comparing apples to oranges. Let me give you some examples. Who would pick up Reed one of our sarting DLman if we release him? Who would pick up Justin iif we released him? How about LC? How about any of our starting DBF? How aboit Hobson or Barton? In fact after JA & JV we have NO tradeable players. You know about the Olman so need to put fuel to the fire. Hopefully that will make you see the horror of it all
So, if JA and JV are tradeable..then they are quality no? NO? Do you realize how ridiculous it is that you cant mouth the word quality? As far as all the players you listed above...every single one of them would be picked up by other teams.....I would wager you ever dime I have.
Yes the next year they won the AFL east again but then lost to KC in a trumped up wild card game. You really have to bone up on NYJ history before you try to become a cynic. After the SB3 win Hess ordered that nobody gets raises so several of our OLman quit as in those days you could really make more $$$$$$$$ doing other work then playing FB. Naturally that weaken the 69 edition of the NYJs which led to there loss vs KC who was the SB winner that year
No you have to go back as to how I define quality players earlier in this thread. Since JV & JA will never sniff the HOF they are good players which makes them average since they are grouped with many. many other non HOF players. Get it now?
