Read below Eagles acquired QB Sam Bradford in exchange from the Rams for QB Nick Foles and draft-pick compensation. Stunning. The Eagles are likely now out of the running for Marcus Mariota, and are taking on a player significantly more expensive and injury prone than Foles. Bradford has more pure arm talent than Foles, but isn't necessarily more accurate. It's another bold, polarizing move from coach/GM Chip Kelly. For what it's worth, Bradford will be reuniting with his rookie-year coordinator Pat Shurmur. If he can stay on the field — a colossal "if" — he'll have breakout potential in Philly, but Rams fans have heard that chorus for years. He'll battle Mark Sanchez in camp. Eagles will trade Nick Foles and draft picks to the Rams in exchange for Sam Bradford. Chip Kelly inherited Foles, an immobile quarterback who showed some serious flaws before getting hurt last season. Now he gets an upgrade in Bradford, who has a massive contract (that's up after this season) and has been unable to stay healthy. It may not prevent Kelly from trying to go up and get Marcus Mariota in the draft, but it certainly takes just about all of the urgency off. Bradford projects as a clear-cut fantasy QB1 while operating Kelly's fastbreak offense. Foles, with questionable weapons and a brutal offensive line in St. Louis, is trending down.
According to a STL Beat reporter the deal DOES NOT include a swap of first round picks. Nothing is official yet and it may include a swap of first rounders, but lets not jump to the conclusion that the Eagles have moved up to #10. If that's the deal then the Rams made a very bad trade, something they haven't done in terms of swapping draft picks (you can argue about who they drafted though ).
and BTW, this deal doesn't mean that now the RAMS wouldn't move up to take one of the two QB's because now they have a much more cap space QB to trade.
Oh believe me I will be band if we pass on Mariota on draft day. This will be me. But more athletic, charming and eloquent. _
Only if they believe in him. It's still a possibility that the draft picks changing hands were from the Eagles to the Rams and the Rams are in no way tied to Foles like they were to Bradford. Lots of cards on the table and in the end it depends on what each team thinks of each player and not what fans have 'chubbies' ruling their thought process
And when all the dust settles the Bucs come out of nowhere and pick MM, keep him behind Glennon, and everyone is fucked if they wanted a trade. Tennessee waltzes in at 2 and gets Wiston meantime, and the games begin.
