I would prefer Glennon but Fitz is an upgrade to what the Jets have right now. We would have to trade with the Bucs to get Glennon, and we don't have a lot of picks left. Who would we trade off the team for him?
The fact that he was drafted in the 7th round is a pretty good reflection of his skill set. He is 33 and 55 as a starter during most of which he was never really asked to be a game manager. If he was, he was not following instructions and/or was bad at it. That speaks to his confidence as a player. I accept he can be stop gap, hold the fort, playbook conduit type of guy for Gailey but the notion he won't cost you games is silly. History tells us he will. Note I'm neither concern or upset by that fact as our 2015 record means nothing. If anything Fitz is likely to ensure us another high draft pick.
Congrats on being the Bills East. Now you get to watch Fitzpatrick throw INTs in the most critical times of games. With Gaileys dink and dunk formula you will be happy with 2 quarters of production and frustrated with the rest of the game.
You would think that... Except Fitz is no different then all those QBs. Well he knows how to throw game ending INTs. Gailey+Fitz=good old 6-10 football.
If you STILL don't get it yet, let me hammer this out for you: GeNO's time is up. Jets are going elsewhere. You don't bench a starter behind a back up material so he can mature. Once you are thrust into the starting line up, either you keep it or lose it. Jets WILL draft a QB, and HE will take over in due time. I repeat. GeNO's gig is DONE. Jets are NOT holding onto the hope of GeNO that does not exist.
It must be hard on former NE QB's since the footballs are regulation psi and they don't get to see the defensive signals of the other team on tape.
Hey thanks! And you go ahead and enjoy the Rex Ryan formula for success which consists of playing the oldest players on your roster at all costs, forcing the OC to run an offense that would have looked good in the 1950s, and starting 2 strong safeties in your defense to maximize blown defensive coverages Not to mention the hokey aw sucks guffaw press conferences while Rex fails to do a good impression of John Wayne
Give em Geno and someone say... Ewusu? Or Salas? (who I still would love to see in green and white and be used!)
