Fitz gives you a better chance at 3 points a game and countless INT's in the 2nd half...along with no ability to throw anything accurately longer than 10 yards

If Geno is somehow even worse than how Fitz is playing then let's see it. At this point what is there to lose?

Fitz is shot man time to move on

I see them all out there going through the motions. At least Revis looks like he gives a damn even though he clearly lost a step. Where is the fire and desperation with this team? This is almost the exact same team as last year minus Decker and they look like a JV squad.

You want to see it? Here - tonight Fitzpatrick had a 3% interception rate, Smith had 17%. Smith also had a fumble playing at a time in the game with no pressure or expectations of performance. Sure it's time to move on, but not down Smith Avenue, that's a dead end.

This is Fitz we are talking about, Here is what happens in this scenario. He suddenly looks magically better after another game or two. It messes with the coaches heads. Then they think "well obviously he isn't the problem". They never bother putting Petty in so he doesn't get reps. It messes with the draft picks. Then well 7-8 wins Bowles saves his job. When the Jets release him some desperate team brings him in like the Browns and he magically looks like the next Peyton Manning, then you look like a fool for gettting rid of him and he hoodwinks another team. This is how Ryan Fitzpatrick works, fortunately due to age you might get one or two more go rounds of this. Just remember the Browns signed and played Clipboard Jesus. Fitz is perfect in those scenarios because he adjusts rapidly to the offense which makes him the Ultimate Journeyman, good enough to almost be the man some of the time.

LOL at using tonight as an example and using INT rate

Whatever just get Fitz out of there and never bring him back in...I don't care if it's Geno or Petty or Hack

We all know Hackenberg's not going anywhere and none of us know Petty's condition so just admit it, you want Smith driving the bus. How many Jets do you think want to climb on that wreck?

This entire season should have been about identifying what you have or don't have accordingly and planning a course to make the Jets a true competitor.

Instead we have a GM so delusional from a 10-6 season in which we beat nobody, missed the playoffs and had a losing QB that had a career year he was unlikely ever to equal, that he determined this was a team that could actually compete and should ignore building and developing talent that could benefit us for years to come at the expense of trying to win now.

Ideally next week we'd see Petty #1 Hack #2 and Fitz inactive. I think we will see Geno get at least 1 start just because Bowles thinks he owes to to him. After he shits the bed we can move on from both Geno and Fitz and see what we have out of Petty before our high draft pick next year.

Well. All I can say guys is that-- don't worry.... We have Petty and Hackenberg learning in the wings. I mean how can they NOT be ready with a coaching staff like this.

If the Jets don't feel comfortable starting Geno over Fitzpatrick this week, then they should just cut him. Geno would only be taking practice reps away from Petty and Hack. Once Petty is healthy, he should be the starting QB. The Jets need to see if he has a realistic shot at starting next season.

Mac needs to figure this out and hire someone else.

This is the wrong answer by Bowles

    Give me a fucking break
It was 4th and 11 and he had to throw
    It somewhere
In his 6 passes Smith had more zip and accuracy than we have seen from Fitz all season. Besides the INT the other incomplete should have been caught

Too small a sample to really judge either way but dont try to say he looked worse than Fitz

Even Jon Gruden said what many here have said that you do nit really know 100 percent what you have in Geno

Smith still belongs on an NFL roster as a backup I am not sure Fitz even belongs on a roster at this point

Well, let's see smith had a fumble and a pick in what, two series? The geno we have all learned to love hasn't changed a bit and bowels won't let petty play so i guess fitzpatrick is the only choice..at least until woody fires him..he was at the game last night looking none to happy.

I will be in the minority here, but I don't want either Petty or Hack on the field behind this offensive line or playing with this WR corp. Let Fitz play and if he gets injured throw the doofus Smith in and let him drive in the final nail to his career in NY. It's best, long term, to let Petty start fresh next year with hopefully an improved line and receivers. He'll more than likely have a new OC as well that isn't better suited to giving his grand kids lap rides than game planning for NFL games. Bowles, unfortunately, gets another season...
