Yes, and looking only at one stat while ignoring the totality of the situation leads to a flawed, shallow opinion. Fisher spen 16 seasons with a low ball owner who meddled in the team operations. Things like Vince Young and the cutting of Steve McNair led directly to much of the problems that plagued the franchise. Think about how active the Titans are in free agency. Not very. Adams is more than happy to make money while feilding a so-so team and hurts the ability of his staff to run things to the best of thier ability when he gets involved. He's the cheap skate Dan Snyder. Read what former Dolphins beat writer Jason Cole has to say about the situation a little more. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-cole_dolphins_stephen_ross_jeff_fisher_01312 To put it bluntly, Fisher has had enough of dealing wiht an owner who knows jack shit about football yet wanted to be involved in running the personnel. Ross Choose to keep Ireland, despite three playoffless seasons in a row wiht a continuing backwards trend, over a Coach that has made a superbowl and came with in a couple feet of winning the damn thing.
As a Jets fan I thought youd appreciate the Fisher situation. The fact is Fisher was a great coach who took a team that wasnt exactly going out and signing monster players and won games. Unfortunately for him he had a little guy called Peyton Manning in his division making it pretty damn hard to make the playoffs. Fact of the matter is I think Fisher was easily a top 5 coach for some time, albeit its really hard to know if he still is since its been kinda a bumpy ride these last few years And hell he made it to the fucking superbowl with Neil O'Donnel starting a whole bunch of games that season, thats pretty god damn impressive
I heard he wanted to go to Miami but his mustache had the final say and opted for St Louis. I think the stache is a better fit for the Midwest.
Fisher is considering Schotty jr as his new OC http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7...-brian-schottenheimer-discuss-job-sources-say
