Fine. I'll drop from 1 to 3 or 1 to 4 (maybe??) if the team behind us wants a QB. That I'll do. But I think the people who want to drop from 1 to 10 or midteens in a trade down are out of their minds.
It’s not the number one pick I want. If they finished the worst 5 within top 5 then they can trade their first pickup to nab extra picks which could mean they could get 5-6 picks within top 75 players (within first 3 rounds) I don’t want J. Adams traded but sounds like from here that he could go could also get us probably another 1-2 picks, a total of 7-8 within first 3 rounds. Not going to make a huge impact but build starting blocks. I know we sucked in draft but we re due to have luck on our side
Just to clarify I’m working on the assumption that the Jets will be in the 3-5 range rather than the 1-3 range. If we do have the first pick I’d look to move into the 2, 3, 4 range provided we think Darnold is salvageable and Tua is not a generational QB prospect.
Not a bad plan; will have to see how things unfold Wasn't that long ago, moving from 6 to 3 cost 3 second rounders (projected to be high seconds) Unfortunately, we can't trade with ourselves -- and if that were possible we'd still find a way to lose the trade.
It's way too early to give up on Sam. He's shown what he can do when the gameplan/protection is right. I say the Jets should build on the other needs like OL, WR, EDGE, and CB. Oh and coach! It won't take just one offseason See how he bounces back next two seasons when he's not running for his life and resorting to back-foot throws. If he is still making the same mistakes, then at least you go into the next two seasons building on OL and then considering a rookie QB so he at least is in a better position to succeed than where Sam is right now. I think it's a no brainer.
QB is not the guy to draft..... too early to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Besides, unless they shore up the rest of this shitty team, I wouldn't expect the next kid to do any better
OL is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and maybe even the 4th priority. I predict the Jets will trade away some talent to get more picks. Maybe Adams.
Geno had some good games too. And top QBs don't come around every year. If there's a guy you like better than Darnold available who you think can be elite, you take him. Don't repeat the mistake the Browns made in 2016 and we made in 2017. And the one the Cardinals didn't make in 2019.
unreal its week 10 and jets fans are talking about the draft.... ho hum business as usual. carry on!! LOL
I still think the Jets won’t be near the first pick. They should win games down the stretch with the easy schedule.
Did you not see that we just lost to the Dolphins? That’s about easy as it gets, they can lose to any team the rest of the way. I do t think they’ll get the 1st either but they will certainly be near the first pick.
You remember correctly, most didn't like it, but there were 5-6 who were adamant he was the right pick. A couple are still blindly defending him.
