I think it's obnoxious to be honest. I get second-hand embarrassment when I see him up there. Really, I can yell and have a majorly good time without some loud-mouth ass-candle whoring for attention. If you need that guy to get up for a game that you're at then you must be dead or something.
Yeah you can yell all you want and have a great time so could I, but can you yell with all 78,000 fans chanting the same thing at once? I don't think so. What Fireman Ed does is unite the crowd all at one time. Even if he is an asshole as a person, I doubt that hardly any of you actually talk to him on a regular basis. So what if he is. He does an amazing thing for the crowd and creates a unique experience and atmosphere for the fans. It just sounds to me like a lot of you are jealous of him
I've been to stadiums where they use the PA system and VideoScreen to initiate chants. For example, every stadium in the world. Fireman Ed can eat a dick.

Speaking of at the game stadium issues, there seems to be a new stadium announcer, and he does that lame "make the crowd say first down" thing that they do in Miami and New England. He goes...."And that's good for a Jeh-uhhhhh-ettttttsssssss????? ..and then the crowd is supposed to go "FIRST DOWN!!!!!!!". It's really annoying in New England, and I don't really wanna do it at Giants stadium.
Like him or not, it is obvious that he makes a difference with getting the crowd involved. With him not being around last season do to his injury, anyone could tell that the crowds were lack luster last and not the same as the past. Painfully obvious! I am not a huge Fireman Ed fan, but I am glad to hear he is better and will be attending the games this year!
