I'm glad he admitted he didn't create the chant, but fuck, this prick would walk around at away games as if he did.

Fuck Fireman Ed, cocky obnoxious prick. Tell that bitch to go back and root for the Dolphins!

Now that is just ridiculous. Let me get this straight, fans got on him because he was wearing a #6 and not the #42 Harper Jersey he had worn for years? Isn’t Mark Sanchez our starting QB? Isn’t that supporting the team?

I never met the guy and have been to one game at the old stadium. He led the chant and it truly game me chills. But to not have him lead the chant (he is basically our mascot like it or not) because other JETS FANS couldn’t get along with him is so dysfunctional.

This is why our fan-base sucks at times. We are never united (you can see this at games when there seems to be a lack of enthusiasm from the crowd). Iv been to dozens of Bills games and I must say, their team and stadium suck but the crowd is ALWAYS into the game. Makes the fans at Met-Life look like a HS crowd. I just don’t get some of you…

Ed's a polarizing figure for us. Go figure. This could only happen here. He'd be a hero in any other NFL town.

Personally, I got tired of the attention he got and a little bit tired of "it" but it was really great when the chant became popular in the late 90's. Some of those chants were just awesome. My favorite part is always the incredible quiet that takes over the stadium right before the chant. That's the detail that will be missing in the "new" version. That perfect moment when Ed hushed us. I loved that part, and it's probably unique to any other sports chant. Absolute silence. You can hear a pin drop, and it's the only time inside the stadium where it's quiet like that. It's so cool.

I got sick of the attention he personally received, but I won't blame him for that. I give Ed his props, and I believe his chant leading will be missed in the stadium.
