Strange way to run out the clock IMO. Kneel, run, take a delay of game and punt out of bounds. You are not going to convince me this was normal, strategic football by Fangio

if there's no risk of pick 6 because clock running out then there's no real risk of a punt return either

on the McClendon hit (who i think of as a more prideful guy than a headhunter) it appeared ot me Rypien was not going out of bounds. Dumb dumb dumb football all around.

Fangio should be fired too :)

Well, hopefully they do this right..... toss everyone. Let the GM pick the coach, and let the coach pick his staff...... you know, like how most functional organizations operate ;)

Jets did nothing wrong hitting the QB. None of those unnecessary roughness penalties were legit. Denver QB got hit in the shoulder pads and went flying. They shouldn't throw if they don't want their QB getting hit.

Exactly, Greg Williams is not the issue with this team. The utter lack of positional depth and front line talent IS THE ISSUE.

No matter the scheme, if you don't have the players to execute, the unit will fail.

Now the offense we have BOTH terrible play calling and lack of positional talent.
the only reason to keep Gase is to ensure the #1 pick. We can then rest with the #1 and a new head coach that JD can pick.

It should be the very minimum thing they should do.

What burns me more than anything in this game is the ref not blowing a roughing the passer play when Sam was body slammed to the ground on his shoulder like a pro wrestler would do to an opponent. How did the dumb announcers not make an issue of this?? That was much worse than the petty helmet-to-helmet call made on Williams for his lost sack.

This organization is such a mess, I don’t know if it’s the coaching, lack of talent, injuries, ugly uniforms.....
But I do believe that a good coach can get more out what he has to work with. (Parcells, belichick).
I want gase and Williams to go. But I also don’t want to have someone come in and muster up a few wins and kill the chance at Lawrence. I’m not done with Sam, I think if he had an o-line and weapons he could be who we thought he was going to be. But a chance at Lawrence....

Smith is an idiot, no business having him as a commentator.

I think Williams needs to go. We have the last ranked defense and it shows in the preparation and discipline as much as the lack of talent. Most of the Broncos scoring was aided by penalties. Guys are taking bad angles or out of position all together. Tackling is sloppy. I just don't think that our defense respects Williams anymore. It doesn't even feel like a unit anymore, it just feels like 11 guys.

But the hits last night weren't out of line. In that situation its like offering a potential gravy sack and the linemen wanted it. Sacks are money for them and they wanted the stat. I don't think there was any ill intent. People are acting like we should have just consented and given up when the reality is the Broncos should have punted it. They didn't punt and we didn't consent the game. Blame Fasio.

i honestly did not see it like that. Yes, there was some helmet to helmet, but it looked like it was because Mclendon came in upright, almost like he didnt want to level him. Whatever, to me its almost a non event. Nobody even seemed to want to talk about it, but Steve Smith lost his shit, and then Irvin was trying to incite Rypien as well. Smith was horrible, his post game meltdown aside, he called the qb Ripken all night

Good question. I looked it up: Crowder was signed before JD.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamison_Crowder#2018_season
"On March 15, 2019, Crowder signed a three-year, $28.5 million contract with the New York Jets with $17 million guaranteed."

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Douglas_(American_football)
On June 7, 2019, Douglas was hired as the general manager of the New York Jets and agreed to a six-year contract, replacing Mike Maccagnan.[5][6]

I still think gase should be fired and wiliams promoted to head coach. He has actually won games as a head coach, if imwere the borwns gm i would have never fired him.

GW is a good defensive coach, nothing special. He s over rated.

Trevor Lawrence is not a lock. Justin Fields shall be seriously looked at.

I would have expected more from you than this. You've obviously lost it if you think Douglas should be fired.
