For all intents and purposes, the Jets have been practically eliminated since the kickoff return in Miami. Actually, you could make an argument that, since Fitzpatrick was always going to have a "comeback down to earth year," we were really eliminated back in August.
Seriously folks, i think petty starts next week in SF despite what fitz does tonite. Its the last 1/4 of the season and everyone knows he wont be back. As we all know, playing time for petty is crucial going forward.
Just to help make sure Petty gets the start next week I started Fitz as my QB in fantasy football, I also have Enunwa and Forte in there as well. Being whoever I start, always have their worst game of the year, after Fitz has 3 pick 6's and the Jets get blown out you would think they have to start Petty.
I haven't seen Leonard's sack numbers. Maybe that's from playing as a 4-3 DT, or maybe it's a product of his having a year's experience, or both. I do know that Mo's and Sheldon's numbers are off, and that we don't have any prototypical 4-3 DEs, and think Lee is probably the only LB that could play well in a 4-3 alignment. That is just my opinion, however. I wasn't trying to "educate" you, just expressing my opinion, my friend.
I used to be where you are. At first, I couldn't even comprehend the idea of rooting against the Jets. After years of ineptitude, that started changing. Then I didn't like the thought, but started doing it to get rid of the Kotites, Coslets, etc. Now, it's not that difficult, even though I still don't like having to do it. The way I see it is that I'd rather do that and be able to keep rooting for the team over the long run, or lose all hope, get cynical and say the hell with them. 52 years of insanity is enough. Woody can sell the team or pull his head out of his ass and do the right thing and hire a professional to run the team and stay the heck out of his way, or he can take the team and shove it up his ass. I can totally understand why people wouldn't want to root for the team to lose even if it might help bring about positive change or save draft position, but I just can't take that perspective any longer.
I'll believe it when I see it. Even if he does, if Gailey has a game plan like he did a couple of weeks ago, it won't matter. Petty won't learn much and the Jets won't learn much about him.
