    https://universe.byu.edu/2019/06/18/zach-wilson-explains-shoulder-injuries-on-media-day/

He's had the right shoulder repaired once and he says he has a tear in the left that will require surgery.

The injuries are not throwing injuries they are from landing on the shoulders both in practice and in games.

Hard pass here. He's not going to have a long NFL career unless he gets very lucky because what NFL pass rushers try to do these days is hit the QB legally and drive his throwing shoulder into the ground hard. That and hit the ribs if he leaves them unprotected.

Seriously. Read the article. It's a BYU article and it is two years old now so it has nothing to do with his draft position in 2021.

All indications are that it's a football injury. Even if wasn't initially, football caused the ligament to degrade when he got into college and played football on it. Hence taking what could've been a sprain that didn't heal properly and turns it into a tear that needs a surgical procedure.

One would think after Chad, Favre and Sanchez, Jets fans would be leery at the hint of any potential shoulder concerns minor or major but we are a resilient bunch.

Injuries should definitely be a concern with Wilson. He's not a big guy. Fields is much bigger and stronger and definitely has the build to weather the plethora of sacks he is sure to take.

It's only the second overall pick.

I am sure the Jets did not look into that with professional doctors/specialist.

It's only a multi million dollars selection after all...obviously fans speculation about injury proneness on a fan dedicated forum know way better than NFL teams with billions of dollars worth and professional medical advisors.

Yes, there's a lot of people who want to give the Jets the benefit of the doubt lately. Because they've done so much to earn it.

Stumbled into Kurt Warner's analysis of draft QBs. I like when former NFL QBs, QB coaches actually take time to study the tape on top prospects and provide analysis. That's why I think opinions of guys like JT O'Sullivan, Simms, Jenkins I think carry some significant weight. Kurt looks like studied a lot of tape, and is posting his rankings and tape reviews from 5 all the way down to 1. So far he has Lance at #5, Fields #4, Mac Jones #3. Has not got to 1 and 2 yet.

"In summary, Justin Fields put a lot of great play on tape, but there were times when he showed questionable processing…slower processing and some general inconsistencies…situations where I really wondered what he was seeing. I can understand why people might rank him higher than I have here. I think if he cleans up some of the questionable processing, he could definitely move up the rankings of this draft class."

But I thought the processing concerns were a meme completely fabricated by TGG Wilson homers?!

Warner says he’s biased towards QBs that play the game the way he did. Way to adapt with the times Kurt.

Have you always been this trusting of the Jets or is anything Wilson gets the seal of approval?

just in JD. if he picks fields over wilson i'll trust him as well. he hasn't been perfect by any means but no GM is. but he does look the part so far and seems to have the right MO and vetting process and a specific type of player he likes

Still, he is legit. Even though he did say processing matters to him more than how fast the guy can run, hence the reference to how he played, when someone with his credentials actually takes time to study the prospects, I don't think his take and points he is making can just be easily dismissed. This is not some you tube guy we are talking about here.
