but what you are describing is for Zach Wilson at pick number 2, not necessarily the Jets for what its worth

will be interesting to see how Josh Allen looks in 2021. Last year, no fans, so every game was like a practice environment

Only because Favre was involved in a serious car wreck. Not because of anything on the football field

True but we have plenty of evidence that says the Jets aren't trading the pick - not answering calls about it, the 49ers trading the farm for #3 overall instead of #2. Plus Wilson to Jets seems to be an open secret in the league. Would be a hell of a lot of smoke for there not to be fire.

so in that author's opinion, Zach Wilson at BYU had just as much talent around him as Mac Jones at Alabama?

  8. Just like this past college season! Ya know the only productive college season the messiah ever had. But nobody wants to acknowledge that.Nothing to see here folks just cognitive dissonance at its best

Based on whatever analytical measure he used, that’s a yes.

not sure if this has been mentioned, but Wilson had a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder too

    well that's asinine.

Mac Jones played with 3 possibly 4 1st round draft picks. Will BYU even have a receiver or running back drafted on day 2, rounds 2 or 3, or will we have to wait till rounds 4-7?

I actually just got of a meeting with charts like this! The line represents the predicted(essentially average) performance for a QB with a particular supporting cast score. The farther above the line the more the QB overperformed based on his supporting cast score, the farther under the line the more he underperformed. The question is how was the supporting cast score calculated? I believe it is a measure relative to the competition faced because there is no way BYU has a better supporting cast than Ohio State, but BYU might be a lot better than their competition than Ohio State is compared to their competition.

definitely seems like some flawed analysis to me but thanks for reading it and explaining

I’m already on record saying that the talent gap between BYU and their 2020 COVID cupcake opponents was way wider than OSU and the rest of the Big 10 this year.

It’s asinine when you are looking at it one sided the way you are & not factoring the the talent relative to the competition they faced.

If you look at vertical distance from the line Fields and Wilson are just about equal.

All metrics are flawed just as flawed as the proverbial “eye test”. Metrics are meant to support arguments not be definitive.
