Preseason has a way of doing that to me. Just look around this board for 40 seconds and you'll see I'm not alone.
The best way to get this offense down is to be thrown in the fire some. The Redskins were one of the few teams to give Favre trouble last year, so I wouldn't read too much into it if he has some struggles in his first game after only being on the team for a week.
I expect Favre's preseason to be less than desirable. If he can't get it together after the bye week, then there are problems.
i was thinking we would use him as much as half to give him some experience against other guys not in green. use him with both first and 2nd team, use clemens with the 1st team for a quarter and use ratliff with the 2nd team for a quarter.
I'd be really surprised if Favre played with the second team for any amount of time. Yeah, he needs playing time but he needs it to get in sync with the first team. Hopefully that doesnt cost us any first team injuries since everyone will have to play more...
I doubt they would keep the first team out there that long. He needs to get down the terminology and the playbook. So if they keep him out there for more than a quarter he won't be playing with the first unit for his entire time on the field.
I agree, not a chance in hell that favre plays longer than a quarter.. I hope they give Clemens some more than 8 passes though..
