It's basically our only choice at this point. I don't see Favre coming back, which to be honest, completely boggles my mind on the Mangini firing. No decent, intelligent HC is going to want to take over this friggin drama led team at this point.
The scary thing is Tannenbaum telling Favre the Jets want him back. I guess Woody didn't sell enough PSLs. I'm starting to hate Jets management with a passion. Tell him to let them know in a week and then they'll decide if they want him back.
this is the first thread involving peter king where he hasnt been ripped apart (and yes i know i say some of the more horrible things about him)
as a longtime jets fan... you have to just sit back with these news reports and bask in the aroma of a horrific finish to a season followed by a whiff of the shit basement we will be digging ourselves out of next year.. I mean the Kotite era was real bad..but are we stooping to a new low?
Tannenbaum wants Favre back because getting Favre was the biggest move he's ever made as a GM. You hate to put so much of your reputation on the line just to have it all blow up in your face (which it did) and Favre coming back is his only hope of making this look like a good idea. Without Favre back next year, Tanny has absolutely nothing to show for all the money spent and expectations built so high. Not that I wanted to keep Mangini, but I get the feeling Tanny would rather throw Mangini under the bus before he did Favre; because to place the blame for losing where it really belongs would be putting the blame on himself instead of the coach.
You were disgusted by drafting a productive 3 year starter from the SEC in the 5th round? And worse than Xavier Lee, Alex Brink, Matt Flynn, and so on? You must hate Ainge. He's nothing special talent wise, but he had/has good mechanics, size, experience, production, and a better than average arm. I think he can be a good backup...maybe even more.
Woo-Hoo! Xmas comes three times a year! Wait...it's already 2009...well Xmas still comes twice a year!
King just reiterated his conversation with Favre during halftime. I don't think even Favre knows what he's going to do. He'd better decide fast. The Jets cut off their right arm for his sake, only to have him waffle about retirement. I'm tired of his soap opera dramatics.
LMAO.. some funny shit isn't it? We have only had one season of it and already it's worn thin on folks...
I'm not going there now. Maybe some other day in another thread. I wrote enough about Ainge in late April and May.
They both played at Tenn, and they both have had very comparable stats. I'd say we'll find out in the next training camp.
Tee Martin was clearly better than both of them because he won a national championship at UT. Problem was Martin was coached by Bill Cowher in the NFL. If the Jets drafted Martin he'd be an All-Pro.
