Not fair to Aaron Rodgers....this could hurt his developement, getting bumped after being told, get ready to start this year.
it's at the point now where you just have to say, "sorry we've moved on", if your the packers. i know he would give them the best chance to win, but favre's been holding them hostage for the last 3 years.it's time to turn the page.
Obviously not starting would hurt his development, but he should be preparing to start every year regardless of whether Favre is there or not. I understand people are sick of Favre's back and forth nonsense, but personally I'd love to see him keep playing. He's still better than most QB's in the league and fun to watch. One of my all time favorite players.
I think this is mainly the context, although buffalonews.com isn't hosting the article anymore so I can't be sure of the entire article (2005): "PITTSFORD - Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman will never forget his first meeting with his boyhood idol, Brett Favre. It came the summer before Losman's senior season at Tulane, when Losman got invited to Kiln, Miss., to play a round of golf with the Green Bay Packers' starting quarterback. 'He invited me into the house for a little bit,' Losman said. 'There he was with his tight little shorts, no shirt and his little red hat. He was doing some farming or something. He was covered in dirt. It was awesome.'" I had it in my sig for about 5 months.
^Jesus, I know openly, flagrantly, honest to god out of the closet homosexual men who wouldn't dream of saying anything even remotely like that to a newspaper reporter. That guy must have rocks in his head.
yeah i never understood the quote either...most bizarre thing ever...is lohsman just a blazing homo or was he drunk or what?
News still rolling in on Favre Brett Favre, QB GB News: With the sudden news of Brett Favre considering a comeback, Peter King of Sports Illustrated reports that Favre has asked Packers head coach Mike McCarthy to return and expects Favre's agent, James 'Bus' Cook, to send a letter in the next 10 days to the Packers on behalf of his client asking for Favre to be taken off the Reserve/Retirement list. Once that letter is received, the Packers must activate him, trade him or release him. King thinks the Packers will activate him but will have a tough time deciding what to do with him from there. Meanwhile, the Charlotte Observer reports that the Panthers, who were rumored to be in the hunt for Favre's services, are not interested as per GM Marty Hurney. Analysis: The Packers seemingly have moved on and have given the keys to the offense to QB Aaron Rodgers, who has waited patiently behind Favre for three seasons and probably isn't interested in waiting for a fourth. The Packers also drafted QBs Brian Brohm (Round 2) and Matt Flynn (Round 7) in the draft. It's tough to still call Favre retired when reputable sources such as King believe he will return, and if Favre did come back it would impact all prominent skill-position Packers as well as the QB talent pool Fantasy owners would be picking from. If you're in a deep draft in the immediate future, taking Favre with a late-round pick is a low-risk, high-reward proposition. And if Favre did come back, he'd be a No. 1 pick worth a selection between Rounds 5 and 7 while Rodgers, who is currently a middle- to late-round pick as a No. 2 QB, would be undraftable for the fourth straight year. We'll bring you the latest when we get it.
Personally, I hope he comes back and plays again this year in green. Even better if the other color is white, and not yellow. I don't care if it comes out that he takes steroids while blowing gay midget cock. He is my favorite football player ever, bar none.
Senses of humor evaporate when self-righteousness appears. Hyperbole, people, hyperbole. Favre's still a shithead though. Trying to throw the entire organization under the bus because they're tired of dealing with this bullshit from an egotisical redneck who only has 4 more TDs than INTs over the last 3 seasons.
Actually, I was just calling you out on your post like you called me out the other day about the molestation. Fair's fair bro. As for Favre, any team that doesn't have a Manning or Brady at the helm is instantly better with him. He's been playing on a mediocre, at best, Packers team over the past few years. Is he acting a childish? Just seeing what I'm seeing, I'd have to say yes. I'd liken it to the Jets' Chris Baker situation. It looks like Favre feels he's being slighted, and the team feels fully justified in their stance. In this case, I'll judge it the same way I do Baker: Favre is f***ed. It would be in the best interests of the Packers to trade him at this point, since he seems bent on being a nuisance, but they have no obligation to do so. Honestly, what it has seemed like for years is that he has no desire to quit. He simply brings it up every year in the hope that management will make an effort to put a solid product on the field, which it consistently fails to do. He's probably fed up at this point, and who can honestly blame him? Personally, I'd love him to become a Jet. He'd end all the Chad vs. Kellen talk the day he walked onto the field.
