not true. As a pass rusher yes, as a well rounded OLB no... he can be very useful as a rotational player IMO.

I somewhat agree... it's just we need that dominant pass rusher at the expense of his playing time.

For any of you guys to believe this is beyond retarded. woody wants to win and so does Tanny. The only way we get rid of these guys is if we upgrade the positions. Period. End of story

I don't buy it for a second and neither should you.

We could be shopping all three, but only willing to part with one.

BT played really well last year. he made a lot of crucial plays that people seem to forget. Yes he'll never be a star and if we can upgrade the position you do it, but he's far from worthless. He played his heart out last year even in the games early and midseasln where the d fell asleep at times (dolphins, jags, falcons)

I'm not sure of BT's salary in the upcoming seasons but I'm pretty sure it's way to big for a player of his calibre after the contract he signed following the 2006 season. I'd have no problems getting rid of BT. I'd have a serious problem with getting rid of Ellis and Faneca.

I'm fairly certain Rex and Tannenbaum would do anything from letting that happen. The Redskins are collecting 3-4 DLine and they could use a vet. I don't like the thought but if it has to happen I wouldn't mind that move...provided the compensation was more than the Rams' 5th.

This is why I keep saying to wait until Sunday to react to this. We might wind up with some great players this year.

What pisses a lot of us off is the way Mike Lombardi came out with it, basically saying that we want to unload big contracts because Woody is being cheap. That's not cool.

Being cheap? Did he notice the contracts he gave Thomas, who hasn't done anything to earn it, and Faneca who is clearly on his way out anyway. Yea, it scares me a little to see a big piece of the OLine leave but then again if the Jets want to throw more they need someone better at pass blocking on the inside to protect Sanchez.

Why shake things up now though? We're poised for a Super Bowl run this season, so why tinker with our offensive line which is the best in the league?

To improve it. As I said, we'll know how everything turned out on Sunday. I'll trust Tannenbaum to do the right thing here.

Are you serious when you post this thread? There is no way the Jets will waive those players this year! We need them to Sweep the division!

with jason taylor on board, one scenario is to trade bryan thomas for a 4th, add that pic to our 1st, and move up ahead of NE for our OLB of the future.

Well Thomas out the door is very likely since we got Taylor and are prob drafting an OLB.

Wouldnt be surprised if Faneca is out the door especially if we draft an OL, this office has shown us they want to save money this season.

The only one who leaving makes no sense is Ellis, and I think hes the only one whom theres little chance of leaving.
