i dont like all the "trade vilma for XXX" talk. why would you want to trade away a solid ILB who is a leader, smart, and a great character player on and off the field? the guy has embraced the organization, as well as the fans, and this is what this gets him...

why not trade D SLOB instead? if anyone deserves trade talk its his fat ass. but JV....thats just going too far. i want to have a much inproved team, and want nothing more than for the jets to make a serious run at the super bowl, but vilma is in those plans. finding an ILB with his smarts and physical gifts isnt so easy.

He is mediocre in our system and it's the system the HC wants to go with. We are not getting the best value out of Vilma's talents and he may be worth more to another team than he is to us. If that is the case it's better for Vilma, the Jets and the team that gets him to move him for maximum value. That's what a really good trade is all about, all parties win.

Im sorry but one year in "our system" isn't enough to judge a player in a system plus he doesnt have a big NT like the system calls for, but hey let's trade Vilma. I got news for you, If you think he is mediocre and did bad and you also say he is a very talented and a very hardworking individual. How the hell is someone who is less talented going to fill his shoes and finally name someone who can replace him? Cuz honestly, via draft or free agency there is no one better out there and im sick of this trade Vilma crap. Man if you guys go the GM powers we wouldnt have a franchise player, just a bunch of guys who were overhyped draft picks. Keep Vilma he is the heart of the defense, replace that and then our defense becomes worse.

Move Hobson to the middle where his 25 extra pounds will do him well. You cant teach size and that is necessary for a 3-4 linebacker. There were times last year when vilma just got blown back 5 yards instantly by the OG. He just isnt built for that.
