I expect to see accountability, unlike during the Douglas/Saleh era. Otherwise, I'm not sure what to expect from this team. I think they could win anywhere from 5 to 11 games. It's a pretty big range.
I’m looking forward to seeing a more disciplined team. Lots of questions, but I do believe that we may have found a genuine management team. I would be happy with 6+ wins this year. Lose the stupid penalties, and hold players accountable. Also pray that Woody gets his UK team, so he’s busy.
I expect that they treat Justin Fields like a true FQB. This is not an OSU take for me.. They have to know what they have in JF going into the draft next year. No need putting handcuffs on the kid. I think he Is a true FQB. Let's find out. I expect our offense to resemble a true offense. It doesn't have to be top 10 this year but I want to see a real modern day offense when I watch this team. I expect that. I expect the defense to be stout and reliable all year long. They should still be the cornerstone of this team and I expect them to do the best. I have no idea what to expect from ST. Obviously, we are all hoping good things will be seen consistently from this units all year long. I expect some good things all around and I wouldn't be surprised at playoffs. Scratch that. I expect playoffs.
At this point, all I can ask for is some damn disciplined football. For the love all that's holy PLEASE stop embarrassing themselves and the people who bend over backwards supporting them. Stop the dumb ass penalties and the boneheaded (looking at you Corley) plays! ACCOUNTABILITY!!!! THAT is what I'm looking for in 2025. I'm liking what I'm hearing from A.G. but everything sounds good in June. How about we make it to October and not be a laughing stock, again. That'll get me feeling better about where they are.
Good or bad unless they win every game by 30 the posters on this board will be bitching about the GM, coaches and players. Woody too!
I would wait until at least the third draft to take a shot at a QB with a high pick. The first draft, you are working with Joe Douglas' scouting staff's research. The second draft is your new hand-picked scouting group's first full year on the job. I don't know that you trust them to draft QB high in their first season. The third draft isn't really all that safe either but it seems like it would be much better odds of hitting with at least a somewhat established scouting group.
I think with running the ball more, games will be closer. The second part is running will shorten games hence d on the field less plays so hopefully better. Eliminate stupid mistakes, get some turnovers, maybe we can be over .500. Think a lot of games where winner may have 17-24 points. Don't think we are built to win any kind of shootout.
8 wins sounds about right to me. The more I see from AG the more I think the Jets may have finally gotten it right this time. Woody just needs to let AG and his staff and Mougey do their thing. I'm a big fan of how we are trying to build something that lasts. The last couple of quick fix years is exactly the way not to operate in the NFL. I expect to see lots of running but I think the passing game may surprise some people. The Jets have some weapons but were saddled with utterly uninspired, uncreative and incompetent offensive coaching the last couple of years. I think this staff is much more equipped to get something out of the offense and maybe even exploit the other team's weaknesses, something we haven't seen in many years. Fields also brings a dimension to QB that the Jets haven't had in a while either. Overall, I'm excited for this season. The wins will eventually come, if not that many this year then in the next few years
I'd boo any opposing visiting QB. So, I might boo but I carry no hostility towards the guy. It's not like he demanded a trade or screwed us over in any way. It just didn't work out once the achillies went. In many ways I was glad how much he seemed to like it here, both as a Jet and as a NJ/NY'er
My expectations before were not high at all but I have to raise my expectations because of what's coming out of Jets camp. The article where Ruckert proclaims Justin Fields a "perfect fit" for the offense the new coaching staff is implementing. The Jets sent me texts about the OTA practices they show clips of Justin Fields throwing deep balls to WRs. Then I read a quote from Aaron Glenn about "the sky is the limit" for Justin Fields. The way they went about the offseason at QB, what's being said & shown about the player at the most important position in the sport this is going to be one heck of a offense? How can I think otherwise? My head coach is telling me we have a player at QB the sky is the limit for him. That's saying a lot. They're talking about his leadership. This is not a rookie QB this is a veteran QB so he should hit the ground running. Please nothing about growing pains. The sky is the limit. We'll see.
I'm hopeful. Glenn seems to have a good head on his shoulders and there are some talented units on this team. Best case scenario for this year, barely getting a wild card spot
I expect we will be in the conversation for the worst record in the league and the #1 overall draft pick.
At one time I would have hoped for a shit season so we could claim the 'generational' QB but the last 4 or 5 of these types have not been generational at all. So on that score, I am just going to go all in on Fields and hope he comes good under a coach who believes in him and gives him a platform and a playbook that will suit him. The fact that he has two of his former catchers, Wilson and Ruckert, can only help. Championship
do you really think that or are you seeking attention? I think we match last years total for sure at the very least. Schedule is quite easy second half of the year with openly tanking teams like Cleveland, Jax, and NO
Not sure about QB. I'll wait and see. The offensive line looks promising and the running game has potential.. A big factor for me is cutting down on stupid drive killing penalties.
To add to my opening thread on expectations, I’m hoping really hard that starting this year we can’ see positive changes and we will no longer be forced to relive arguably 20 years of depressing performance with no hope in sight. As such is paramount that our leadership quickly displays on the field of play the professionalism and discipline and the ability to turn this ship around. Give us a team a team oponents will take seriously from here on out. Win or loose.
