I considered going through this post and responding to it line by line, but I'm concerned that the level of stupidity you display is contagious.
Lots of dumb. Let's begin here: Sanchez outshot Tom Brady twice. Once in September, and once in January. Why is the defense not what it was? Because they lost one DLmen who had one great game in January and gets his sacks when the Jets go to a 4-3, or if the coverage lasts long enough for him to get there? What fan are you? Are you a fan of giant, green, muscular men with big beanstalks? The fact is you're a troll, and soon the big banhammer will come down on you. Notice the word "down" in between "come" and "on."
I know I shouldn't but I can't help myself. Rex's challenge is just the type of thing Rex is known for. One it takes pressure off his team by making everyone talk about his big mouth. Two it gets beating the patriots on everyone's mind whether they like it or not. 3 it is a message to the rest of the league that the jets shouldn't have to be the only team that beats them.
Rex should have gone a step further and said, "Me and my brother can't be the only ones to beat the Patriots. Another family needs to step up. Nigga lost to Cleveland... Cleveland!"
Say what you want...the jets are not what they were. You had a good run and you should be proud of your team and all of their accomplishments. But the time for them to win it all was limited and don't assume that anyone who comes onto this team forum and does not give praise to Rex is a patriots fan.
How is the time to win it all limited? Considering a good majority of the team is young and we still have the same coaching staff in place Jets are not what they were? The fuck you been watching way too many Dennis Green press conferences. We had 2 good runs, and were in prime position for a 3rd run You reasoning makes absolutely no sense
This post made me chuckle, as we are returning 9 of 11 starters on defense, and 8 of 11 starters on offense. and our #1 pick will be replacing one of those departures. the core of our team is 27 an under, and locked up long term. the idea that we were built to win in a 2 year window, and now our team has been decimated with guys we couldnt keep under contract, is laughable. somehow we are to believe that losing woody, ellis, richardson, and edwards is going to be a huge hit to the core of our team.
Starting Offense: average age 27.8 years QB Sanchez - 24 HB Greene - 25 HB Tomlinson - 32 WR Holmes - 27 WR Plaxico - 34 TE Keller - 26 OL Brick - 27 OL Slaussen - 25 OL Mangold - 27 OL Moore - 31 OL Hunter - 29 That doesnt count Conner - 24, McKnight 23 Starting Defense: Average age 27.9 DE Wilkerson - 21 DT Pouha - 32 DE Devito - 27 LB Pace - 30 LB Harris -27 LB Scott - 30 LB Thomas - 32 CB Revis - 26 FS Smith - 28 SS Leonard - 28 CB Cromartie - 27 That isnt counting wilson, 24 so yeah,... as you can see we are old and washed up, and lost all of our good players to free agency while returning no one of note and locking no one up long term /sarcasm
Will your team be competitive? Yes. But the guarantees are getting old (even as a jet fan Rex's proclamations look to be no more than empty promises), and getting over that hump looks next to impossible. If you hang your hat on getting to the AFC champ game two years in a row than it could also be argued that the Bills are the greatest franchise to ever play the sport due in part to them reaching the SuperBowl 4 years in a row...(and we all know how that worked out for them).
I'm not trying to bust balls at all...what is the point of a forum if you can't express another point of view about a topic? As a sports fan all opinions (unless vulgar) should be expected and accepted. What would a forums point be if all participants just gave praise to the team?
the truth of it is, rex got this team to over achieve 2 years in a row, and has created a culture of winning football and physical dominance in a short span. and he has done so with a very green QB. any improvement with sanchez and this team will be a title contender each and every season. "getting over the hump" ill take that over what, 5 years since the patriots last playoff win? sanchez has 4 playoff wins in that span.
an opinion is one thing.... posting outrageous comments that have no basis in reality just to get a reaction is another story. that just trolling
Why do you assume all persons who are not jet supporters are patriot fans? It is possible for NFL fans to enjoy discussing other teams without looking to bash them. I see Sanchez as a good QB but not one that you can hang your championship hopes on. It's not personal nor is it my opinion that your team sucks...as soem other posts indicate.
you've yet to disclose the team that you root for, which makes me think you just like big green people.
I like football...I enjoy a good match-up between two good teams. No team is as perfect as their fans make them out to be. The best thing about this sport is that "on any given Sunday"...the Jets lost to the Dolphins last year but that doesn't make Miami a better team.
This is probably the most one sided forum of all the one's I ever have visited...why can't a person make a non-positive comment about a team? A comment that isn't filled with insults and comments about how bad a person sucks. Deal with it. The jets had their opportunity and they fell short, nothing to be ashamed of.
