He was put on IR. I think it was a knee injury.

    Knee injury..... on IR :shit:

Shaun Alexander couldn't get a spot on the LIONS, then gets cut from the Skins, a running team in the playoff race, with their top 2 RBs dealing with injuries.

    I'd say he's toast.

It makes absolutely no sense to get this guy. We have the perfect 1-2 punch, why add a slap in.

No, no, no. As if the 716 yards "Suga" rushed for last year was the difference maker? Seattle sucks this year because their defense is unhealthy, their wide receivers are dead and Hasselbeck has been injured.

I've said this many times before, but Shaun Alexander is the most overrated player in NFL history. Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson handed him the TD record on a silver platter. He runs with no steam whatsoever. I know there is a lot of Peter King hate on this board, but what he said about Alexander in the playoffs last year was right on point: "I have never in my life seen a running back run softer than Shaun Alexander."

There is also a misconception that Shaun Alexander is "not a bad guy." True, he's no gangster. But he is one of the most selfish players in the game. Remember when C-Mart got the rushing title a few years back? Alexander had a chance to break his mark on the final play of the season, with the ball near the goal line, but Holmgren called a different play. Never mind that the play worked, and the Seahawks wound up in a great position to make a Super Bowl run; Alexander was furious that Holmgren denied him a personal accolade. That's selfish.

Then, after he set the TD record, he signed the biggest contract in running back history and phoned in the next two seasons before getting cut. He's garbage.

I would much rather the Jets signed a running back off the street than sign Shaun Alexander. Forget the league minimum, forget running in garbage time, this guy does not deserve to play football in the NFL, let alone for the New York Jets. We should make a play at Michael Vick before we make a play at Alexander; at least he runs hard.

I shall now descend from my soapbox.
