i noticed that as well. i would have to say that it cam down to being 5'10" 190lbs. Cro is 6'2" 200lbs. if wilson is slipped even a little bit to the outside it will become a 10 yard fade for a jumping catch with any normal sized #2 receiver. Just what i see when looking at the players
Why is everyone forgetting about Cole? Lowery and Coleman are NOT 4/5 with Revis back. Lowery moves to 4 or 5, but Coleman never sees the field as our 6th corner.
how quick us jet fans forget what happened in the divisional game, Cromartie never was a physical corner, he cant tackle to save his life. With Revis, we have the best secondary in the league, without him we are below average. It's funny how the best defensive player in the league does that
We def have decent depth at cb, however, as mentioned above, with Revis out I don't think we have the depth needed to run Rex's system the way we did last year. Cro and Wilson are solid corners and Lowery should be a decent 3rd cb, however, none of them can do what Revis did last year and Rex's confidence in Revis was much of the reason why he could be so aggressive last year. In our first five games we go up against Anquan Boldin, Randy Moss, Brandon Marshall and Sidney Rice. Boldin and Rice are better than average receivers and our db's may be able to cover them adequately one on one when Rex decides to rush 7 or 8, however, I don't think Rex has the confidence to send 7-8 and leave those two matched up on on one with Moss or Marshall with no one playing over the top. We lose that aggressiveness which is where we made qbs turnover the ball or make bad throws, those offensives can then just pick us apart if given enough time. Losing Revis in THIS defense def gives us depth problems because our D can't be as aggressive as we were last year. Last night the Giants were playing without their #1 receiver and even though Nicks can play, he isn't at an elite level just yet, when we have to deal with big time receivers the depth will be an issue.
I would love to not have to worry about Revis not coming back. Great depth at cb without him would do that, at least to a large extent. Despite what I would love, I am worried. Thanks Lowery and Coleman. You suck.
If Lowery is the 4 fine. Coleman needs to take a hike. I'd rather have Erik Coleman back playing corner and he's a safety!
Cro was brilliant last night, and while he doesn't lay the lumber, once he wraps a guy up, he doesn't let go. The guys gotta have a weakness somewhere, he's not Revis.
I'd rather have 38 year old Aaron Glenn. Hell, I'd even take Ray Mickens! Ok, maybe that's a little excessive.
