Better than siiting on their asses and offering huge contracts to mediocre players.

I hope it's a really late draft pick.

He's not much of an improvement at all imo. Had one good season 3 years ago, and since then hasn't done much. I don't think he can carry the load.

Could help, but just as another guy to share time with Blaylock imo.

Speaking of contracts to mediocre players, does anyone know how much Barlow is making?

I'm not high on Barlow. There were two guys I felt were acceptable to trade for. Earnest Graham from T.B. and Artose Pinner from Det.

Time to trade blaylock for whatever we can get for him - he and Washington basically would have the same roll and Washington has way more upside. Thank god we don't have to see 100 threads about RB's to trade for anymore. If Barlow can return to '03 form, we may have made a real solid move here.

if we traded a 5th or 6th round pick for him I think its a good deal, he is a previous 1000-yd rusher, something we don't currently have with Blaylock, houston, and washington

Thanks for the info. I don't know much about this sorta thing, but since Barlow was traded, SF eats the signing bonus for this year, right? Are the Jets only accountable for the base salary then?

I have to agree with you about getting rid of Blaylock. Both Blaylock and Washington share the same role as a 3rd down back. One has to go. I also am glad to see no more ridiculous trade for a RB threads. Although they just might end up being replaced by trading for a DT thread.

Washington is not a particuarly tough runner, he wouldn't make a good 3rd down back. His role is really on special teams and as a change of pace runner.
