You still didn't answer the question. The Jets have won a championship. How many have the Falcons won?
HELL NO ........ can't stand them honestly. The truth is you won a championship 37 years ago, the Falcons have only been a franchise for 40 years. The first 36 with incompetent ownership, unfortunately I have to accept that fact. It's been a painful 28 years of being a fan, but I don't think you can really rub in winning a championship more than 30 years after the fact can you ??
Well, the Falcons are eligible to have a winning record in 2006, so they have that going for them. As you Falcons fans are well aware, Atlanta made a deal with the devil in order to secure an expansion team. Deal was the city gets a team but it can never have consecutive winning seasons. Jeez, is that rough. 'Cause I mean, even the Saints have had consecutive winning seasons.
Honestly This is like an argument between Cubs and Indians fans. Can we all agree that we have both not had splendid histories and focus on 2006 and beyond.?
Pretty funny line ...... Probably one of the most painful realities of my being a Falcon fan. I hear it on our boards from Saints, Panther, & Buc fans. Only to come here and be abused by Jet fans. The end is near, I can see it in the way Blank has run the franchise since he bought it. It's gotta end in 2007, it's just gotta.
Just so you know, I don't mind the Falcons, although I still think their opening day victory in 1992 was aided by atrocious officiating.
^Get a load of this guy. Whatever gets you through the night, Mr. Sparkles. Hehehe. I kid you, of course.
the falcons have had a miserable history, but its not nearly as bad as the saints. They have just ONE playoff victory in franchise history.
The irony in that is the Jets selected him one pick behind Favre, and we traded Favre that year. The misery ......
That's one of those things as a fan you can never forget, no matter how hard you try. Still remember where I was when I heard about the trade, and how pissed I was at the time, and pretty much ever since. That's what I meant about incompetent ownership / FO.
To the Falcons credit they got it right three years later when they drafted quarterback Perry Klein in the 4th round.
John Clayton just said that Abraham is not going to go to Seattle, so the Jets and Falcons will just have to get creative.
I'm a regular reader and poster at FO, and I read that as well. 2nd round picks are actually better for a franchise in the long run than 1st rounders.
