We do need a running back. I don't think we need Duckett but we are very weak at running back right now.
weak at running back amongst other positions last time i checked we were 4-12. Duckett is not the answer and he certainly is not worth Abe.
This just in.... ESPN radio just reported that this a****** has no idea what he is talking about!!!!!!! Can a mod please close any thread that is titled "espn radio reports", or any other combination involving the words, "espn" and "radio". All of them have proven to be made up.
Duckett is fat and just plain bad. He doesn't have to drive or motor to be a Jerome Bettis, and he is just too slow to be any useful to this team.
The difference between Seattles first round pick and Atlanta's first round pick is fairly significant. The Jet's have agreed to the 31st pick in the draft for Abraham, but to trade with Atlanta they want to jump all the way up to the 15th pick without throwing anything else into the pot ? Atlanta's pick is almost 2 times the value of Seattles. It's just not logical to think we would throw another 450 value points on the table above what you've already agreed to, without some other compensation.
Until we know what Houston can do yes. Curtis and Blaylock are strictly practice squad cannon fodder.
The Jets have not agreed to take the 31st overall pick. That is just the best known offer on the table.
You be correct, if the Falcons hadn't made the first offer. The Falcons said that they would not trade Schaub or their first rounder, then offered the 2nd. Seattle then came in and offered the 31st overall pick. So it has nothing to do with the Falcons wanting compensation over what the Jets agreed to. The Jets agreed to the Seahawks because the Falcons from the start were unwilling to give anything of value.
Duckett is a lot of things, but "fat" isn't one of them. He's got a 6% body fat ratio. So far as injury prone, not so much, the normal nicks and bruises of an NFL RB. In the right scheme Duckett could be a hell of a back, but he's not a one cut back which is what Atlanta's scheme calls for. Having him learn the position behind a smaller, quicker back like Dunn was not smart.
You are 100% wrong with you last comment.... there is NO deadline to trade Abraham, not this year. That deadline is the end of direct negotiations for the CBA comp rule of 2 first round picks if the Jets choose not to match. Yer info is faulty.
I don't know if they've agreed to the #31 pick. I think what I've read is that Seattle offered it, and now the Jets are going back to Atlanta to see if they'll up their offer. The Jets want the 15th pick. I wouldn't be stunned if the Jets throw a 3rd round pick back at Atlanta to get that pick, but if the Jets can pin Seattle and Atlanta against each other in a bidding war, the price will only go up, not down.
Sorry RMF..but when your team needed him in your playoff push down the stretch: Your team went 1-4 while he had 39 rushes for 43 yards. 39 rushes for 43 yards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks..but no thanks. You can keep him.
Yes. The Falcons, that was the team! That was the team with 5 different QBs having to play at one point during the season, yea and it was the team that had their backup RB, starting TE, 3rd WR, and Offensive Linemen going down for the season in addition to the QB issues. Dude, go back to your "Falcon Nest" because you obviously don't know what a rough season is.
