You're looking for something that won't be in the media.

Revis and his agent are not that dumb. One of the ways the team recoups salary is jersey sales, to publicly put a name on those demands would hurt his ability to sell 200 dollar shirts.

But the simple fact is this, he can't hold out, or he's got to play 3 more years, at 3 mil per.

But the Jets can pay him 6 this year and watch him walk, and who knows how many hammy issues hel'll have.

You have to trade him now.

He absolutely deserves. From week 1, quarter 1 when he blew up Fred jackson's knee and derailed the Bills offense, all the way to the end, this guy has been an impact player. $6M is reasonable. I know we won't pay him but I wish we would.

Signing Landry should be the top priority for the Jets this offseason, unless they intend on taking a safety in round 1 or 2 of the draft.

This season is a loss anyway, let him walk and save the money for Revis.

His is just going to get hurt the moment he gets paid anyway.

Revis is young and Landry is old? Revis is an '85 and Landry is an '84 - by this logic Revis will be old next year and we should not lock him up either.

Charles Woodson just got released by the Packers , a former defensive player of the year, I wonder what kind of price tag would come with him. He plays saftey and could be a little cheape then Landry because he missed the last 9 games due to injury but Woodson is a beast.Im surprised that Green Bay is just releaseing him like that he is one of the best players at his posistion in the league. Id take a healthy Woodson over Landry any day of the week, he's a better cover guy and he isgetting up there in age but could be worth a 1 year deal or something like that. He is alot older then i thought he is 37 i didnt realize that. NM i hate this idea after reading more about his decline in play last two years lol

Woodson got released because he's old and overpaid. Great player in his day.

Yes. Let's make a CB the highest paid defensive player in the game.

Landry is far more of an impact player for 6, than Revis would be for 16 mil.

Trade Revis now, and get an extra pick in round 2.

If we'd just get a 2nd round pick for Revis, I'd rather keep him for next year and let him walk (or resign him halfway through the season). 2nd round pick is piss poor for an all pro player who's one of the best ever to play the position, injury or not. Revis's skills are mostly mental. Unless we can put ourself in the position to improve the offense big time, I wouldn't bother. I think that once a team with a good QB starts worrying about Revis ending up in their division, they might think twice and try to land him for themselves. Nobody wants to face Revis 6 times a year, hopefully that alone will motivate teams to outbid each other. That's the best case scenerio, although we still have to wait until March 12th.

You won't find those quotes because they don't exist. The media just speculates and the masses blindly go along with it thinking it's truth because it says it in the title. It was the same thing with the "anonymous" sources, and the same thing with "Revis is unhappy with his contract", and same thing with that article posted above. Not any of it shows a single quote from Revis or his agent suggesting he wants that kind of money. It's incarcerated bob level predictions and that's it.

His 2 previous holdouts beg to differ. The team should not have caved on restructuring the contract he had when the Hardknocks series was on.

    That's insane.

He'd have a nagging hammy week one, and attribute it to the time off, walk as a FA, and we'd get nothing out of it.

An extra second will net you at least two good OLBs and a speedy pass catching RB.

Under the rookie salary structure, and allow you to pay Landry.

    4 for less than one.

And trading out of the nine, will net you another pick in the first 90.

You could come out of draft day, with Landry locked in, Gilleslee, Dion Jordan and Chase Thomas....and have several million left over.

Though it would be worthwhile to take a flyer on Ansah.

An extra 2nd will net us exactly 1 extra OLB or RB. Not 2 or 3. If Revis goes we should at least get another 1st, or a 2nd + 3rd. That would really net us some players that could help. 1 second round pick isn't going to make or break the team. We'll lose more than we gain.

And if he walks after 2013 we lose a lot more.

Right, but we have a high one, and a two. I said an extra second. And those three players plus Landry > Revis, in total effect.

Which means the extra two, nets us 3 players.

And trading out of nine nets us a 3.(roughly), they could pull a a Belli, and trade it to a really bad team in hopes of moving up next year.

That's still two OLBs, and a RB.

    Was the math too difficult?

GGN has us taking Jordan at 9 when most others have him in the second ten picks.

Trading Revis, then nets you the three players I mentioned.and allows you to pay Landry.

6 mill, plus another 1.5.... Saves you more than 10 million dollars while netting 3 young players.

Who is going to pay your price for a one year rental and a holdout headache.

Which, essentially is what we have now, because without paying him, he ain't playing.

If you dont buy that article on Revis, then why arent you here doing the same from the Landry reports? Its the same stuff. Neither Landry or his agent came out and said 6 million, but supposedly thats fabricated bullshit...
