I wanted the Jets to get him over Barlow last year as well. I think he will do well being mixed in with Leon. At worst he would be a short yardage/goaline back. I don't know about his work ethic, but I don't see Mangini looking at him if he thought he was lazy.

Let it happen. Just don't give him a Blaylock-like 5-year deal. Then again, this is Tannenbaum and not Bradway.

If he's willing to sign, it's a no brainer. Great complement to Washington.

Duckett is a power back...But their have been a lot of times where he has been stopped on 4th&1's and goalline situations consistently...

But in the end i'd take him since he'd probably come at around $2 mil a year, IF that...

I would absolutely dread having T.J. in our backfield...

Jets fans don't want Ladell Betts, but yet they want his backup even more, explain to me how that makes sense.

I'd like Betts, but I'll say this. Duckett never got a fair shot in Washnigton. He was acquired near the end of camp and never got a shot.

I watched most Redskins games this year being in the D.C. area, and I agree that T.J. didn't get a fair shake...but he wasn't impressive either...didn't hit the hole well to me...he's big, and he's fast...but if he stands behind the line all the time it doesn't matter.

While I agree with the philosophy, and role that Duckett would play, I am not a believer in Ducketts ability to be efficient at it. This would be a big mistake in my opinion.

Amazing point- very true. Duckett has done nothing- averaging under 500 yards a season, playing for the #1 rushing team in football for most of that time. He also had fewer receiving yards in his career than Leon had this year. Think about the line he was playing behind in Washington and Atlanta, both are much better than ours in the run game. He is not even an upgrade over Barlow or Houston. And, no, he is not like Brandon Jacobs-- that guy runs hard.

I have no problem with this. Duckett has upside. The way I see it, he comes in to compete with Houston as the compliment to Washington. He can't be worse than Kevan "I can only run in the mud" Barlow.

I'd like to at least give him a try, as long as it isn't more than a one or two year contract that isn't too expensive. He worked well with Dunn, but on the Redskins, you're bound to suck if you're signed as a free agent.

The Falcons were only the best rushing team because they have a RB playing QB. The fact that Duckett averaged almost 500 yards a season as the #3 RB is actually pretty amazing, considering he spent much of his onfield time blocking for Vick and Dunn, further padding the teams rushing stats.

I wanted this guy over Barlow last year. At least the guy can block and pick up blitzes, as well as be a dump off option for Chad. If he can become consistant as a short yardage back it would just be gravy.

He would fit our offense perfectly. this would be one of our best signings aside of coleman.

Although how old is he exactly? im really intrigued by next years draft of rb's (sig) and would not want to sign someone who would stop us from that.

If we sign Duckett, that really signals to me that this regime sees Leon as a #1 back.

Duckett will come in for 3-5 carries a game and no more.
    He stinks.

I agree completely. Duckett just flat out sucks. Don't look at his height and weight. Look at his numbers. He's just like Barlow - slow and goes down the second anyone touches him. I hope this does not happen.

But, for the record, I would prefer Duckett to Chris Brown and his friggin turf toe or whatever makes him leave every game after five carries.
