Cotch, Yes, I think we all have to acknowledge he has durability issues, and that has to be factored in. But... Reilly, The question I have about your previous post concerns who will be available in the draft. You seem to imply that there will be a good candidate available. Remembering that as a practical matter a higher pick is more likely to be able to start this year, who would be a suitable match for the Jets? The point obviously being that if that is a problematic question, Boldin is more attractive than otherwise.
I don't think there will be a good candidate available at the receiver position at 17. My point was that the FO isn't jumping on any of these trades in which they consider the price too high. They obviously feel that the best relative value so far is in the draft, unless they can negotiate a lower trade for one of the remaining available receivers. Again, unless the opportunity arises to trade down in the first, I'd imagine they're targeting a receiver in the 3rd without a trade down. Louis Murphy would be my pick. He's not a surefire immediate starter, though, coming out of Florida's offense. It's great having a former receiver as our receiver coach in that situation. He's got the size and speed to be great at the NFL level, but needs to work on his route running.
