Never seen this before. I think what pissed me off was I think I'm reading a "complimentary" article about the Jets and all of a sudden I see a reference to them as jersey/B. Very underhandedly insulting. He got a nasty email from me.

Could not have said it better. Fuck ESPN and the Patriots and their sense of entitlement.

  3. Easterbrook is a punk, in the same Jet-bashing mold as other Page 2 Patsboy Simmons.

I am pretty sure the Jets' coaching staff and scouts did more work than just play back a tape of Harrison's TV comments. Anyone who thinks like Easterbrook just doesn't understand the intricacies of formulating a game plan.

I think some of you are missing the entire point behind Easterbrook's schtick. He generally mocks most teams. Nothing he really writes should be taken seriously. Getting upset about something that wasn't serious to begin with is sorta.. silly.

You don't think his stuff is funny... that's just a matter of taste/preference, whatever. No big deal there.

Personally, I think "Football Gods" is a great nickname for the Jets. Thanks ESPN.

He's supposed to be a satirist with an intellectual bent. He has always called the Jets and Giants, Jersey A and B. I guess because they call themselves New York teams but play in New Jersey. I guess not everyone thinks it's funny.

It's all the NY metro area. Making a big deal about state lines is lame. Who cares? NFL football in this area is played in the Meadowlands. WOUld it be any better in the middle of Manhattan? I personally think it would be worse. Non issue.

You're too kind to the guy. He's as good at satire as Belichick is at smiling. He's as intellectually honest as Belichick is about SpyGate. The guy is an egomaniacal, I'm-always-right douche.

Let's put it this way, if he were on this forum, he would have spent last week telling everyone how awesome Brady and Belichick were, trashing Sanchez and Rex Ryan and today would have posted that he knew all along that the Jets would win. To me, the guy is worse than Fatty. At least Fatty is consistent in his hatred.

I knew this one guy in college (I went to Michigan) when we were watching an NCAA game against UCLA. UCLA goes up by 6 and this guy starts cheering for them. I mean, you go to Michigan and you're cheering for UCLA??? Yea, Easterbrook is that guy. The guy you want to beat up no matter what side he's on because he's just a weasel, a scavenger, a rat.

Sad since he actually knows a little football and it's possible he could write decent columns if he didn't let his ego get in the way.
