    Facts

The fact is that the guys we brought in are significantly better than the people they replaced. Everyone is being critical b/c of the money that was spent but we had money to spend and, as far as I can tell, our cap is still in good condition. We picked up 4 very good players and we paid well for them. But we are better today than we were yesterday and everyone is energized about the season. The Jets have done their job.

I could not agree more, what are these people talking about in the Jets not upgrading the QB. We did that 2 years ago by using a high second rounder on Kellen. It never ceases to amaze me that it can be decided by the "so called experts" that after 8 games you know what a QB future holds. Tell that to P. Simms and others like him who were down right bad there first 2 years or so.
Kellen showed much promise last year and if the receivers would have held on to a few of his throws we may have won a few more games. All of this while for the most part running for his very life behind the revolving door that we called a offensive line.
Now if you add in the fact that most defenses knew damn well that same line was unable to open holes for Jones or Washington, you end up with a QB with a large target on his back.
Also we are not going to be as bad as we were last year and win a Super Bowl the next. The money was spent to bring in players to fix the system the coaching staff wants to play.
This all goes back to the Jets doing so well in Tangini first year, had we not made the playoffs we may have made these moves last off-season. That playoff appearence created a false sence of talent and gave the impression we a few adjustments away from a solid team. Which as we all saw was as far from the truth as you could get.
This will be the year we see just what this coaching staff can bring to the table and if all the talent can be brought together.
I would also remind the "experts" that this group has done a very good job picking talent in the draft and the picks last 2 years show that. In Clemens case and defense he depends on others doing there job which in turn will allow him to do his. Last year there were too many players not doing there jobs and Kellen struggled at his. This year will be an excellent test and a better evaulation of Kellen true skills, after this year we will know if the QB spot need to be readressed.....

Instead of telling me that my # 2 pick from 2006 is a dud because he did not play well in his first eight starts on a lousy football team how bout telling me where the hell are the Jets suppose to get starting QB for 2008 that would satisfy these nay sayers. I am so sick of this argument. What, until we improve the QB position everything else we do is a waste!!! So Clemens will definitely not be good based on those 10 games? Elway, Farve and both Mannings also blew there 1st seasons. Its like the media finds one negative thing to hammer home and that's the underlying point of all things Jets.... but the QB position is ....... I still believe Clemens to be the answer based on Tangini picking him second and their confidence in him.
