I stopped reading this retarded drivel after that line I bolded.....honestly Champ...you have WAAAYY too much time on your hands... i thought the general population of "old folks" played bingo....what happened to you?
Is this before or after Brett Favre retires again after this season? Because I kinda doubt he'd be out hunting with Woody afterwards and telling him to fire Mangini.
I actually agree with the thought here. I feel Brett is leading up too calling his own plays. While I disagree that he would try to manipulate Woody to remove EM I do feel Brett feels he has enough levity to push for running the offense to get the best out of himself. And I did get that from his interviews and from Mangini's thought on how the communication between them is going. Mangini did say that he listened to Brett and actually agreed with what Brett had to say say on some points but also said that there were some things he didn't agree with. Why else would Brett mention being able to go out there and just react as a passer. The only way you do that if your drawing plays in the dirt. I think he could run an offense as good as Peyton Manning. I also think Mangini knows this and by mid season I wouldn't be surprised if Shotty gave Brett a handful of plays to work with during series like Peyton gets in Indy and call the shots from there. Champ I don't think EM is going to be non-flexible. I think he has the vision enough to allow this to happen under his watch. Same thing happened to him in NE. He was resistive to blitzing a lot. But when his guys were complaining that they were not getting to the QB in time and the DB's were getting burned he finally gave in and sent extra guys in and it worked. Same premise here. Shame on me. I was gonna start a thread about this after the Favre interview/presser when he said he just wanted to go out there and react. Immediately I thought of him calling his own plays. I say let him. It would just add to the legend.
I see BF here thru at least the 09 season as I feel he sees if he can pull the miracle off he will really/truly become a super duper FB legend
if Favre puts up the wins as a result of it....are you gonna care, Champ? fuck..lighten up, old man!!
Well thanks for agreeing. As for EM I hope you are correct but if that host on the NFLN is correct in what he was saying how EM is using VG then I have to say maybe EM is not as flexible as some think he is. I would think in any push & shove match with Woody BF will be the outright winner
how can i see something that hasn't happened yet?....oh right...I forgot I'm dealing with some "carnie with a crystal ball".
Ah BF complaint or comment that he wanted to play more vs Wash but EM shut him down. Like I said at the worst you should read the Daily News & Newsday blogs to find out the small stuff that can turn into big stuff
so what if he wants to play more....that's great. He knows it's Mangini's call....Favre isn't gonna start WW3 for lack of playing time in the preseason. Quit making a mountain out of a mole hill. And i keep up with the blogs...and there's a lot of bullshit that Boland and Cimini spew out that isn't worth digesting some days....don't put so much "starch' into what they're feeding you. I think you need to maybe work on a "crossword" or something, champ.....it's a lot less stressful.
Seriously, they need to stop letting you into the computer room at the nursing home until you can prove you know how to make at least one coherent sentence.
Ah but if Woodys comes into the LR & asks BF how it is going & BF replies well I am still not sharp enough with my receivers & I needed more work but EM said no what do you think Woody is going to think? Whose word would Woody accept BF who has been a NFL QB for 17 years or EM who has been a HC for just 2 years? I'm sure Woody intention in this entire BF incident is to produce wins especailly over the Pats & if we lose in week 2 to them then Woody could easil;y think it was because BF did not get enough work since we acquired him
Ah if monkeys had wings...Ah if I could fart gold I would be a billionaire. Honestly champ, what do these hypothetical scenarios accomplish? Let's at least wait until the season starts before we talk about the end of the world.
Well half agreed anyway. Your presentation of Woody & BF in woods actually brought visions of Joe Gibbs going into the woods looking for a retired John Riggins holding a rifle. I heard Jamie Dukes talk about VG too. He might be right in that respect but when do you start teaching VG the finer points on how to be productive in the system? EM might not be as flexible with VG only because EM in control of what is really his defense. Em is a control freak in many respects but it's a 'controlled freak'. This aint Suttons defense. This is EM's defense and he has total control of the evolution of VG. I'm not counting on VG because of his rookie status or even swayed by his draft position. Mario Williams is a perfect example. Everybody questioned leaving Bush on the board and in his first year you only saw flashes and questions pop up. But now he is living up to potential. How many years ago? Jamie Dukes also explained about Bretts' 'passing concept'. And I think this idea lends itself to Brett running his own plays or running the offense in a meaningful manner. LINK: http://www.nfl.com/videos?categoryId=nflNetwork And as far as BF pushing his weight around? I think he already has by using the media. Smart ol coon. He is a sudo staff member. He may be a player but with his experience and vast knowledge of football how can you not want to hear what input he has on how things are running. I think that makes his conversations with the CS easier. Brett knows there is a lot at stake when it comes to his reputation. I don't think he wants another ugly fiasco. Plus I think EM will oversee but let Shotty and Callahan work with Brett and put his trust there. That's how Belly up in NE handled him. If Mangini mishandles Brett he would be done. But I don't think he's worried about it. When Brett told the CS on the sidelines to go for it on 4th down what did EM do? He smiled and walked away leaving Brett to work with the other guys. That spoke volumes to me about how things are going to be handled for the most part. You just wind Brett up and watch him go. They were on the wrong side of the fifty and and they run the ball? I could not believe it but I threw up a fist pump when they got it. EM can drop the hammer whenever he wants to or has to. And I hope I'm right too.
I think he's trying to say "Locker Room"...but that's only because my grandfather had alzheimer's...and i was able to pick up some of the lingo.
