Our starters are bad. Add a few key injuries and it goes from bad to comical. I don' t think Gase is the right guy and I never did. But I kind of agree that the bigger issue is the lack of talent on both sides of the ball in key positions.
And "socialism" or revenue sharing is done in the NFL, NBA and MLB for a reason--it works. Otherwise, the rich teams would win every year and fans of the poor teams would just quit. Firing Rex Ryan was a huge mistake. We never found anyone better. We've never replicated his success. We should have found a coach we knew for sure was better before we replaced him. Anyway, Gase was a loser in Miami, so why is it shocking that he's a loser in NY? Our owner is a moron. He's the problem.
I used to feel that way but I believe Gase took the job because he thought Darnold was a can't miss NFL QB. I believe Sam could very well be a bust. If Gase can't get that right he can't help us improve the roster.
Yup, and season ticket holders hesitate to let them go in the short term because there is no guarantee that you can get them back or how much that may cost.
I don't really get why people buy season tickets before. And my dad/uncle held them in the old stadium from around 1990-2008. Tickets are so accessible now. And so "affordable" relative to what you pay for season tickets anyway. This isn't like the 90s where you had to know a guy that knew a guy to get tickets. If you drop the tickets you then also don't have to go freeze your ass off in December to watch the 1-10 Jets take on the 1-11 Dolphins because you laid $125 for each seat already.
This. Everyone want to fire Gase now when in reality no coach could coach up this steaming pile of shit. We need to give JoeD a draft or 2 to get the roster competitive. THEN we can fire Gase if need be.
you know whats funny. zac taylor is just as bad if not worse then gase and nobody wants him fired there. Not saying 1 is wrong or right, just saying it's interesting how fan bases are and the bengals have been as pathetic as us as a franchise
Go look at the Bengals forums. They're saying he could go down as one of the worst coaches in NFL history. They're making as much of a fuss as all of us, they just don't reside in the largest media market in the world so it's not as noisey.
Fans who want Gase fired after the Miami game apparently didn't watch the game. Our 'defense' make Fitzpatrick look like Johnny Unitas, and Gase has nothing to do with our 'defense'. Or did you forget?
i just looked at the bengals reddit. barely a mention of taylor and nobody really shitting on him. most of their posts about about the draft and wanting a QB. I found 1 thread on taylor and it wasn't even shitting on him. most were more like IDK if he's the guy. but it's hardly the outrage gase is getting now
Eh there's a lot on the boards I've checked. I'd link it but it's not really worth it. They've also played three games where they've lost by a combined 7 points. It's a bit easier to be patient with a 31 year old first time head coach. Not a retread that's been an utter disaster. I'd be especially mad if I'm that franchise and they didn't deal some of their players. Geno Atkins, Dunlap, etc. are about to hit the downslopes of their career. They are similar to us though, in that their entire season was essentially wrecked by offensive line play. I had higher hopes for that team.
