We're in the worst spot if you want Bowles gone. We "outperformed" with our talent and are therefore most likely keeping him around. Not to mention our record will be too good for a high first round pick. I can already see us go defense round 1 and then reach for a "raw" offensive prospect in round 2... I suppose that a clock is right twice a day and I am hoping that something inexplicable clicks for this team. I mean they do have a decent chemistry going on so I guess that is the one positive I take from this season. The young players have a lot of work for them next year when expectations are high. We have to continue to grow organically and I don't want to see us getting McCown leaves otherwise Bowles is to blame for not working with the younger QBs.
It seems likely to happen at some point now but I still think we are a couple losses away. Bowles is not going to start Petty or Hack against Panthers or Chiefs, if I had to guess Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Correct and good points However our record is going to drop like a rock...just watch what happens with the next 6 opponents. Plus .all bets might be off with Bowles if he loses badly 4-12 and we good for '18 draft pick BTW I will personally be done with this team if we draft Defense Round 1..we can't come away empty handed with this years QB talent pool
I say this TB loss was a blessing in disguise.....now all of that silly playoffs talk should end. If the Jets were smart they would give both QBs 3 games each coming up.....judge them both. Know what you have going into 2018. That's what a smart franchise would do......
What makes you think this? Just to be clear on all for seeing Petty or Hack but saying they'll get the ball out quicker is based on nothing and very likely it's the exact opposite and they'll take even longer to throw
I'm with you but you can tell the fans that bought into this mess. Two weeks ago they were celebrating and looking at playoffss. McCown does nothing for this team winning or losing. The Jets have to find out what they have behind him and also on the sidelines. Another year of Bowles will be just enough to miss out on everything. Once again this team was unprepared and outcoached. Oh and no adjustment and no giddyup till the game is almost over. We were beat by Fitzpatrick. let that marinate for awhile...Fitzpatrick.
If there would have done that from the begining we would be halfway there to an 0-16 season like we needed. It would have answered all our questions. Bowles not coming back, Rodgers not coming back, Macc not coming back, Hackenberg not coming back. Top pick would have been locked down.
Petty does get the ball out quicker. McCown for his career has been a human statue. Petty also is more mobile.
Last year I would have thought Macc had a pulse and would do that. But he needs to go away too. You draft a QB high and he can't even see the field in two seasons.
NO way do we see Petty or Hack after this bye week,,NO WAY it is not in Bowels DNA he is coaching for his job/ extension and he will NOT play the kids . In the real world , in a real organization , a REAL GM would tell the coach "its time" but because we are dysfunctional we will stay the course . We might see the kids by week 14 but don't hold your breath .
That will be another year washed down the drain. I thought the tank job was lose till you get a QB in top 3. Fired Bowles, fire Macc and keep Hackenberg #3 for another year of just flat out cut him. Reload the offensive through free agency and then try to compete. If Bowles comes back all plans are off and we'll be schizo again.
A one arm statue can get the ball out quicker than McCown, and that is a fact. He has been that bad forever. Have you not watched Petty at all? He is way quicker than McCown cake
As I watch the Pats in shear disgust win another game easily I can help but think how massively important is to have a sharp, knowledgeable HC. It makes all the difference in the world. Every week they come prepared, no matter who the fuck is in the lineup. Brady is the heart, but BB is the brain. We have no brain, no strategy, no chance. We are way overmatched at the HC position. until we fix that we will be bottom dwellers.
I think winning games is good for a team and I think McCown has been a revelation this season. Overall that is. Today was god awful. In fact today was actually what I expected the whole year to look like from him starting on day 1. I'm glad the team has been playing him thus far but I think today was an inflection point. Today you just laid down against a 2-6 shit team and blew your season going into the bye week. Maybe give McCown one more week but after that I think seeing what Petty and maybe even Hack (if they still think there is a legit chance he pans out) can do starts to make sense. Petty I think should at some point have at least a 3 game audition to see what happens. I have a sneaking suspicion he might actually be pretty good if given a chance.
McCown cant last much longer behind our O-line, was there 3 or more hits from linebackers unblocked yesterday?
