Giants also played better defense when it mattered the most. I do give Eli the most props in that NFCCG against Alex Smith and the 49ers. Eli was getting his ass kicked the entire game but NEVER turned the ball over, and made the completions that mattered the most. People will say what they will about Eli, but that guy is one tough SOB.

The difference was D/STs, in title games their D played like a championship D and ours did not. The difference is in the '11 title game Eli had 2 would be picks where SF DBs collided w/ each other on both plays, Bradshaw fumbled late and they called him down while Mark threw a pass and they ruled it a fumble in the '10 title game. STs set up all of NYG's pts in the 2nd half/OT of that title game.

switch the QBs and the results are the same as far as the teams go.

didn't turn it over but had 2 horrendous passes that he got very lucky on. Both were thrown up for grabs and were so bad the only ones who could catch it were 49ers and each time they collided w/ each other and knocked the ball away.

Eli led the giants to 10 pts in the 2nd half and OT, both were set up by fumbled/muffed punts deep in SF territory.

You switch the QBs that day in San Francisco and it would've been the same result. And we're talking about that game where Eli Manning kept getting off the deck with his helmet knocked sideways...with turf hanging off it?

Just like with Eli that day, there's no way Mark Sanchez would've had the ball knocked loose by that ferocious Niner defense. Not Mark, because we both know he was the epitome of ball security.

AGAIN, Eli threw TWO would be picks and got LUCKY. Mark didn't throw an INT against a ferocious Pitt D on the road in Pitt and he got crushed that day too.

junc is like the driver on the wrong side of the highway.

"A guy is traveling in his car listening to his radio. Soon an announcement comes.
'Dear listeners, there is a car driving on the wrong lane so please avoid the car at all costs'

Of course our guy keeps driving but shakes his head after the anouncement. He says what 1 driver. All these fucking drivers are on the wrong lane.

Yessir that was the game. There's not a chance in Hell, Mark Sanchez lives through that game if he were the Giants QB. You have to give Eli Manning a hell of a lot of credit for withstanding that ass-kicking. This picture says it all.

The excuses Junc makes is unbelievable.

    Don't

It is true that you know football more than me. In the end, I came to this country 10 years ago and started paying attention to football only 6-7 years ago. And I don't mind admitting that. But your problem is obvious. It isn't about knowing football or not knowing football. It is about finding different excuses for Sanchez at almost any discussion and going against more than 90% of folks on this board. I enjoy reading you when things aren't about Sanchez. It shows you are knowledgeable. But when it comes to Sanchez, you definitely show your bias.

WOULD BE, but never happened. Let's not talk about adjusted interceptions. Mark Sanchez is the all-time leader. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. Eli kept his composure, didn't turn the ball over. Like I always said, you control what you can control and Eli didn't fumble the ball away or lose his ability to play field position.

Alex Smith was like Big Ben in our AFCCG (good in the first half, trash in the 2nd).

adjusted INTs is a bogus stat, those 2 throws by Eli were right to 2 SF defenders each time.

and Mark was incredibly tough and durable for us so to say he couldn't take a pounding is again Sanchez haters being unfair.

Eli did very little that game other than survive. show me when our D/STs gave him the ball deep in opps territory in title games- never happened. the only pts they scored in last 3 qtrs. were set up deep in SF territory after TOs.

I am fair w/ regards to Mark, always have been. I have never called him great or said he would be great. I simply counter the weak arguments that he sucked and it was all his fault. Mark and Eli were both really good in their postseason runs, the difference was not at QB it was w/ D/STs.

Mark was incredibly tough, I'm not taking that away from him. He's not that way now, and I don't know if he could take the beating Eli took that day and not turn the ball over.

Sometimes the best thing to do in a game is survive, play field position and not turn the ball over. Mark unfortunately couldn't resist trying to make something out of nothing. Sometimes it's better to take the sack or throw the ball away.

But you can't sit there and judge Eli Manning about his would have been turnovers and not look at Mark and think the same exact thing. He's turn the ball over plenty of times in crucial spots.

but again he only didn't turn it over b/c of sheer luck. Mark took a beating in the Pitt title game and didn't throw a pick, he had the one fumble which should have been ruled an incomplete pass. sometimes luck works for you and sometimes against you.
