Dude, that the first thing I saw. The dolphin's dude is zoned in on that ball, and Edwards is staring off at the cheerleaders.
Whether he is drop prone or not, this was a drop, and that second picture hardly helps, sure he's looking at that point, but the ball's already on the way out of his hands.
You guys are brutal.......this was a tough catch all sprawled out. I think its hard to call this a drop as to me a drop is situation where he absolutely should have come down the ball. Either way if he wasnt looking at the ball thats a bad move but to act like that was a catch anyone would have made is another.
That's a LOT tougher catch than you guys are giving it credit for, the ball is coming across your body, not at it, and it is well out in front of you. That is a tough catch to make. I agree that elite receivers make that catch - a much higher percentage of the time then most receivers, but not always, and for sure not automatically.
and the one catch on the sideline? i had numerous co-workers who arent even jets fans say thats the kind of catch only about 3 people in the league could make. i know youd like to see him pull it in but that PI call although questionable was the right call cause as Edwards was in stride he brought his arm back in running motion and it got hooked by the DB, if that never happens he tries to pull it in mid stride instead of having to dive to the ground for it.
What I was trying to say was that I'm not exactly upset that it was a drop because, yeah it was a tough catch. But still, there's no excuse for not looking at the ball. Go Braylon!
Thread starts out great and then people are over analyzing one catch with a controversial PI call. If a WR could make every catch, well that would be impossible. It's hard to judge his eyes in a still photo in the middle of a dive. He could've been following the ball with this eyes but that still shot didn't catch the speed. He was diving behind a guy so he had to find the ball while diving into the ground,.
he's not looking at fucking cheerleaders....where do you clowns come up with this shit?! The guy is playing for a contract....and is excited to be in NYC. get a clue.
My only concern is...will we be able to sign both Leon and Braylon? Thats alot of $$ for two players. Will we have the cap room to get both guys signed? IF...next years not an uncapped year.
What's the point of complaining (or even talking) about this when it didn't even really affect whether or not we won or lost. I'll start talking about this sort of thing when he's dropping passes earlier in the game.
I'm sorry but what I saw on monday was NOT a fluke. I think it's already done. Sanchez + Edwards is going to be sick. It hurts to admit that when we could have had him specially since the dolphins were in the mix to get him but the Browns wanted Ronnie Brown. Hell no!
The main reason Manning has had such a good relationship with his receivers is continuity. Hopefully Sanchez and Edwards are given that same opportunity.
Well, Thomas Jones will almost certainly be moved (I think he's due to make almost 6 million next year). I'm sure Bart Scott will be asked to restructure his deal the way Rhodes and Pace did last year to free up cap room and of course the salary cap increases every year
Jets N Boys took note of this wisely in another thread..... Couple that with Jones being like 5.9 MIL off the books next yr and we should be gravy.
^ we will also get back about $10 million in dead money in '10. Mostly from the Pennington, K. Coleman, Coles and Barrett contracts.
yep. Tanny is a cap guru and thats why Parcells had him around. im not worried long as Tanny is here, as others have said.
Don't downplay the role that Woody Johnson plays in all this. Tannenbaum is given the green light to front load contracts so the team can continue to make moves but that requires more out of pocket money initially out of the Baby Wipes fund. Having an owner like Johnson allows Tannenbaum to structure deals the way he does.
