Hey guys, This is my first post on the forum. I believe that he would be a huge boost for our defense. I don't know how much of an every down player he would be but would love to see him wearing that jets green making big plays. I say we get him.

I would also like to add that i am currently living in louisiana and was in a saints bar during the jets saints game people were pretty damn mad including my whole family down here but man did it feel good

Reed would get a new number. No reason for Wilson, in his 4th season with the Jets, to give up his number for a guy who would be here for 6 games.

I'd love to wear a Jets Ed Reed jersey to Baltimore when I go in a couple weeks to the game.

Reed is perfect for our defense, knows it inside and out and would be the best safety the momment he steps on the field.

Plus Houston is already paying him a salary for this year so we could actually pay a league minimum on the books and get away with it.

Even if Reed has lost a step he's still a locker room leader and veteran presence on the field. He sure could teach Allen a thing or 2. Man if he really did fall off that badly, then Baltimore looks brilliant for releasing him.

Well if he can muster enough gas in that tank for a few more games this year its worth the signing and I think Rex would get the BEST out of him. Go Jets

Reed's a great locker room leader, and veteran presence. Even if he doesn't play, he could still help work with Allen and mentor him. Allen has looked very promising, I'd love to see what some tutelage from Reed could do.

Not to mention if we get him that means the Patriots can't get him.

If my math is correct he'd be owed the remaining $412k of his $1 million guaranteed contract plus a $62.5k per game roster bonus (being on the active game day roster) which ends up an additional $437k for a salary cap hit of about $849,500 bucks for 7 weeks.

I may be wrong but I don't see Idzik springing for that.

Albert Breer is reporting that Baltimore has stated that they will NOT be claiming him off waivers. They are committed to building around Elam.

This would be a great signing. Reed and Rex have a mutual man-crush for each other, so it's not unrealistic to think that it may happen. I'd be stoked.
