Yesterday morning, I was listening to Manny Munoz on S. FL radio, who is a morning talk show host and sports announcer, talking about the upcoming game. Of course, he's a Dolphins fan. He said that the Jets fans are self-hating way more than the Dolphins fans and he's correct. We are totally self-hating and overly critical when it comes to our favorite football team. I guess that's what happens when your team hasn't been in the SB for 43 years.

 

I don't need to watch Eli circa 2007. He has two rings. How much do you want to bet that the Jets have a new QB next year not named Sanchez? Actually you probably know enough not to wager because you'll get buried on that bet.

I'll be waiting to hear your reply the first week in February 2013 when you're expecting Sanchez to sit at the podium a la Eli. Aint happening!

Watch a guy drafted last year in the 2nd round named Andy Dalton. He had zero talent around him on the offensive line and he led his team to a playoff appearance.

I agree. I think they bought a SB run and came up short. A solid defense, a solid offense, only question was the QB, but they figured a 1st round QB with the talent around him could get it done. Missed it by ('l l') that much.

Their defense is at least serviceable (Top 15). The Jets offense is absolutely pitiful and futile (Top 32).

No, he doesn't get it. He knows just enough to be able to name players and coaches but not enough to be able to watch a game and understand why things are happening and who is supposed to do what in a given situation. Call NFL Radio this afternoon between 3 and 7 and run the OP's points past Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan. They'll rip it to shreds because it's not based on anything technical then ask a bunch of following questions you won't even know how to start answering.

Example:
You're in 11 personnel, 1x2, strong right and the Z is running a post. Your slot is going to run a slant and the TE will post up the DE then leak out to the right flat. On the backside, your X is running a curl route to the sticks but he can read the coverage and option it to a 9 route if it's there. How deep is the quarterback's drop and what is the quarterback's progression?

So you want to come on here and say Sanchez isn't being developed and he isn't being taught how to go through his progressions, then what should he be doing in a situation like that and what are you seeing him do instead?

Or people can use their heads, not make ridiculous statements and talk about things they don't understand, and realize that quarterbacks are taught this in high school to some degree, more technically in college, and it is absolutely practiced in the pros. At what point do we take the responsibility off the coaches and front office and accept that some players get it and some don't?

I would make one short statement.


Get back 75 percent of the drops that hit Holmes,Cumberland and Hill in the hands, this team is 3 and 0 and yesterday's game is over early, Hill had a ball hit him in triple coverage for a first down, and another for a TD.


And that's not taking into account Holmes alligator arms, or the Hartline non catch that actually put points on the board.

 

While you we're watching yesterday if you were not a Jet fan...how would you compare QB's?
