Forget the Chart then. How about Lito and the #19 doesn't justify the #6 regardless of who is available.

Why not get another round pick out of it, even a 4th? Does it have to be just lito and the 19, because hey we can just get out of that spot. Then we become the Bears in the TJ trade last year, people will compare it to that because of how little was given up. Not the impact of the trade, just value alone.

You don't trade up to the #6 with a later pick and a player. I have a feeling every GM would laugh at that. "How about a good CB and a the #19 for your #6 Mr. GM?"
    "What else am I getting?"
    "Ummm, no thats it"
    "See ya later, kid."

Forget chart values, its just unjustifiable to take 2 minor entities for 1 blue chip entity.

The point is there's a very reasistic possibility there is no "blue chipper" that would be of any value to us. Odds are Gholston, McFadden and both Longs will be gone by the time we pick. If we're going to be looking corner, why not get one already with NFL experience and be able to pick up one of the top two wide receivers in the draft?

but if those guys are gone, why would the eagles even want to trade up? I highly doubt the eagles even contact the jets regarding a trade up unless gholston is there. And if gholston is there, i don't really think the jets would want to trade down unless they get a ludicrous offer.

any reason to think the Eagles are interested in a top dt? that could make them want to move up to 6 to make sure they trade in front of the bengals/saints.... Honestly if the Eagles want to move up I dont know who they would want, all i know is if the Jets traded back with them for Lito Sheppard, 19 and another pick later on (whether that ranges from a second to a seven) I would be ecstatic!

They do have an aging D line, so they might want to take Dorsey or Ellis if either of them are there.

If the opportunity is there to trade down to 19 and pick up Lito Sheppard and an extra 3rd or 4th rd pick, I would do that in a heartbeat.

With the 19th pick I would take Limas Sweed. In the 2nd round I'd take BAP on the defensive side of the ball.

    A 27-year old CB that's a 2-time All-Pro CB is a minor entity now?

Completely different situation from the Bears who were trading the veteran just to move up.

Lighten up pal. It was a lighthearted comparison. Let me explain what it actually means because you don't seem to understand. Just because you only want something of a certain value doesn't mean you can expect to get something more valuable at a knock-down price. The Eagles want the 9th spot, but if they go shopping for the 6 they will have to pay for the 6, not the 9.

Clear now? Or are you still confused?

Yes, especially when he has never played a full season. Age and injury will increase, therefore, more must be put into the trade. A good GM uses that to his leverage- if this was actually going to happen i can see Mikey T using that ploy to milk a 2nd day pick from Andy Reid. Damaged goods warrant more compensation.

No matter how much people would like Sheppard it would cost the Eagles him plus their 1st and 2nd to move to #6. The Eagles won't do it and I'm not sure the Jets would either. It's not just the player and the pick, it's also the money and how long you can control him.
