hasnt been announced, but our best guess is a 5 to the jets for lowery if he garners specific amounts of PT/stats and a conditional 7 to the packers for schlauderlaff provided he makes our roster and possibly depends on PT in case of emergency.

That's what I'm hoping. It would be great to come out of these trades on top with improved draft picks. I hope the Schlauderlaff trade is similar to the D-rob trade where the Jets will only lose a 7 th if he meets certain incentives.

I am not happy with this trade at all. I always was a fan of this kid and think he can develope into a solid player.

    Well we waited four years...

Lowery was serviceable but I think our fandom is kind of swaying our collective opinion. He's a backup. There are a handful of guys ahead of him. Bottom line is Rex knows what he needs for his defense and Lowery wasn't it. I'm guessing it has something to do with his speed and cover ability. He played some good snaps for us last year but hopefully an improved Kyle Wilson and Cook/Cole will make us realize this isn't as bad a deal as we think.

we may have offered GreenBay a draft pick for schlauderlaff to keep him from hitting the waiver wire, where we might not have gotten him?

not sure why else we'd offer anything for a player about to get the boot.

Lowery seems to have been kind of stuck between being a corner or a safety. I remember early on people were suggesting he was better suited to be a safety, but for some reason the transition occurred later on. Well, before Cro came the team did need help at corner, and Lowery was okay there at times.

This seems to have everything to do with Eric Smith's improvement at safety, and Pool and Leonhard rating well.

I know we don't know for sure but if it is a 5th for Lowery, I find it funny that we got as much for him as Washington got for Hanesworth and Cincy got for Ocho. What a difference being a decent guy makes in the NFL.

Did you see the play? I think I could have intercepted that with my ballsack. Nothing too impressive. Right place, right time. But he did close the game out.

Do you find that your ballsack has good hands or do you need stick'em like the old Raiders?

    Another thing is Rex.

Rex stated that he will work with a player to move/trade him if the player is looking for playing time beyond what he'd get from the Jets.

While the Jets may benefit 'a bit' by keeping a good player on the pine, one of the reasons players love Rex is he's always willing to do what's good for the player as well as for the Jets.

Lowery, sensing a long season polishing the pine, may have approached Rex and asked to be a starter or moved to another team, and Rex obliged.

    Just a thought.

It was thrown right to him by a bad QB. He is a serviceable Cb and nothing more.
