The third down tackle (in bounds) on the last drive was probably an even more important play than the interception. Drew doesn't make the arm tackle, the Fins have at least 1st down, if not the TD.
Yeah and to be even more honest he should be the full time safety opposite Leonhard. Not that Smith has been playing poorly but Pool is making shit happen out there.
Yes he stepped it up.. I wanted to say that about last week also.. Im impressed. Now all I need is for madden to change his speed from 82, when the entire team says hes the fastest Jet.
drew Coleman hasn't had any drew Coleman like plays this season I'm very proud he hasn't been himself. we now love you the defensive back formerly known as drew coleman
Yeah that was a big play. It was an ugly tackle but it brought him down and kept him in bounds. Coleman really stepped up on the last drive and made up for some pussyfoot plays he had earlier. The last play was mostly Pool, but if Coleman hadn't come up with the INT, the ball might've landed back in Fasano's hands.. so big props to Coleman.
I thought last week was the best game of Drew Coleman's career, but he went and topped it. He might even be a serviceable dimeback now.
Drew was not that good but considering everyone was getting roasted out there, why not. Pool made the play on the ball at the end of the game and Coleman was the beneficiary of his play. Can we not remember Coleman tripping over the grass when he tried to tackle the fullback for the Fish on a dump pass?
Every single one of our DBs had a shit game today. It shows you the kind of shape were in when the passrush is lacking.... Coleman made the play at the end but by no means played well tonight; same goes for all the DBs.
I personally disagree, you have to consider not only the fact that there wasn't any pass rush from the front seven (credit to the Dolphins there for having great protection at all times), but also that Revis was out AND that they were playing one of the very best WRs in the game (Brandon Marshall). Plus you have to admit Hartline and Bess are no slouches either, plus Fasano can catch very well. So without their best DB, they had to contain the WR corps on the road in a huge division game with a raucous crowd and a young QB who (a) had all the time in the world and (b) seemed dead-on accurate the whole game. All that considered, I give the DBs a B+. It could've been WAY way worse out there.
They played one of the best offenses in the NFL last week under almost the same circumstances. I thought our CBs struggled in man tonight, and the nickel and dime corners got roasted time in and time out. Sure you could give them a pass due to lack of passrush but this team has racked up coverage sacks in the past as well and the NE game is proof this group can cover deep WR corps. I thought the DBs didn't cover well on this night in particular, their WR were wide open on 3rd down way too many times for my liking but we can agree to disagree. The D as a whole played terribly.
This needs to be quoted and repeated on this page. People need to take into account we had to double up Marshall leaving everyone else open for an accurate passer with years to throw the ball.
Pool is the reason Fasano didn't score and that also lead to the interception. The underneath coverage was beat he read it and stepped up. I'm assuming Pool isn't full time out there because his ankle is still probably bothering him a little and it's also not the worst idea to rotate in someone either to keep him fresh (but also ankle injuries can linger so why not take it easy on him a bit early in the season). It's not like Smith is horrible. He's not great but he's not going to be the sole reason why we lose. Coleman was solid tonight. Not great, but not bad, which is definitely a step up for him and continues his play in the right direction.
