By the way, you are confusing me with some other non-lawyer--I never said anything about district attorneys pressing charges. And my non-lawyering has to do with non-criminal lawyering--never wanted anything to do with that.

    Seriously, I'm really an astronaut.

You never told us what you did. YOU sound like a kick-ass lawyer.

I don't have any, I have only studied at school. I will be entering the job market in less than a month.

BS, JD, MBA, admitted to the NY State Bar, admitted to the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Authorized Counsel in CT.

But I'm not a "practicing lawyer", I'm in banking and finance.

The astronaut thing is just a hobby.

Does that mean you agree or disagree that the NBA could strip the Clippers of their franchise?

I for one would love to see it. I like anarchy when it comes to billionaires.

Actually, the JD didn't fully get me where I wanted to go, it was the MBA. Never wanted to be a crimnal lawyer, always wanted to go into banking, came into it through my experience at a huge corporate law firm.

Btw, my Dad was/is an MD, was a abdominal/thoracic surgeon growing up and when I told him I wanted to go to law school he almost disowned me. Wouldn't let me go until I convinced him I was going corporate law, not malpractice :D

I think they will use it as a scare tactic but to actually go through with it? Absolutely not, too many people would lose their jobs not to mention all the revenue that the NBA itself will lose, we could be looking at a "our hands are tied" situation from the NBA itself, the fans and corporate sponsorships need to put pressure on Sterling to force him to sell by not showing up for games, pulling their sponsorships, and doing protests outside the arena but what else can really be done by the NBA.

As horrid as Sterling's words were that conversation was illegally taped and it was in the privacy of his own home, in America we have a constitution that protects your rights to be a dick.

We actually don't. He can be the biggest dick in the world, but the constitution ain't protecting him if his club decides he's too much of a negative.

The illegal taping and privacy of his own home really has nothing to do with it--"illegal" is a term reserved for the courts, any arbitration will be MUCH more liberal.

But I agree, the scare tactic of taking away the franchise will force his hand, but if they do, no one is losing any jobs and no one is losing any revenue--they will award that franchise to another billionaire willing to pay handsomely for it who will call his new franchise the LA Shplippters or something.

Stripping his ownership would take this to the courts, abolishing the franchise would lead to arbitration, if they voted to abolish the franchise then there would be no organization to give to another Billionaire from my understanding.

I meant abolishing the franchsie, not stripping. This will never see the light of court (except when Sterlings case gets dismissed). And then 3/4s of the owners (or whatever the super-majority is for that sort of thing) could decide to award a brand shiny new franchise to another member of the billionaire's boys club. I'd guess it's already being discussed.

News conference is in a few minutes, I don't expect to much on either front today but we should hear more later this week or next week on what the owners plan to do. This is a nice test for first year commissioner Silver lol talk about getting thrown into the fire.

You gotta figure he'll simply suspend him today for an indefinite period, takes the pressure off of everyone. Yeah, this is going to take a while to play out.

Btw, this chick has a pretty decent body (although I don't like tats) but her face looks like it was hit with a Louisville Slugger.

    Brutal.
