Parcells knows what he's doing. The fins roster is a lot different then it was last year. they have a lot more talent and should be better. ricky looked more like the ricky of old in their first preseason game.

They will be better, but so will we.

I may have been hoping for the best, but the reality is the bad behavior by Chad Fans was not going to end overnight. It will take some time...

No one is talking playoffs on Finheaven! Ricky could very well win the rushing title he's got enough talent. No one thinks Pennington is better then Favre. As for Pennington being the starter for another 4-7 years, he's young enough, but if you actually read the thread it says "could be" not "will be"!

What is it with some fans that think they can just tell everyone else what to think about their own team? You don't watch the Dolphins you don't follow the Dolphins, your team was 4-12 last year hardly a reason to believe you'll be better, but I'm sure you do! But that's not the same thing right???

True. However we spend a #$#@ load of money upgrading the team. We have a lighter sched than last year etc. etc. So while every fan believes their team will be better than last year we have gained strength in our beliefs through off season acquisitions. While most of the bright spots on your team have been traded away or cut.

I hope your fish do decently this year but I would be a little less pumped if I was a fan of the Fins vs being a fan of the Jets.

It's not like we've never heard of him before. A lot of people, myself included, were completely sick of hearing about Brett Favre before he was traded here. I don't hate him but I wanted the story to go away, not come here. On the flip side, the hate a lot of Jet fans have for Pennington is completely unfounded, he's one of the more successful QBs in our history and all people do is bitch and complain.

Ask Daniel Schneider how spending money helped his team, I'm sure you'll hear crickets chirping followed by a blank stare. You can look at the Dolphins changes any way you like, I don't care. I know it's not always about talent, but philosphy, toughness and a team that plays like a team. The Giants beat the "MUCH MORE TALENTED" Pats last year in the biggest game of the year, they did cuase they wanted it more and they played more like a team then the Pats.

I'm not saying the Dolphins will have a better season then the Jets as I also like what the Jets did this off season and I think they could actually scare the Pats a little, I'm saying the Dolphins are much better coached and the guy's in charge of finding talent actually have a clue in Miami.

There is no argument from me that the Fins are heading in the right direction. Youth movement etc. The front office now has a good Football I.Q.

I think signing Pennington was a good move for them. I think they will continue to draft well and build that team back up to a contender in a few years.

I doubt the money spent here will have a negative influence on this team this year. Hey I could be wrong. The end of the season record will tell the tale. All i was saying is that there is true reason for optimism here and for this season. The same kind of optimism Fins fans must have had after the team signed Bill Parcells but in the Fins case its more of optimism for the future.

What the Jets did this offseason was different that what Schneider used to do IMO. Why? Every player they added via FA/Trade (prior to Favre) was a trench player with the exception of Pace who will be used part time in the trenches to stop the run. The pickups addressed obvious areas of need.

They got bigger, stronger and more talented on the O and D line. Schneider used to go after the flashy skill guys for the most part.

Parcells is doing a lot of the same in Miami, but he's not spending the money the Jets did.

I agree with both of you that the Jets are better. Even before you got Favre, I had the Division,

    NE
    NY
    Miami/Buffalo toss up.

Now that the Jets added Favre, I wouldn't be shocked if the Jets were SB contenders, based on talent. As for coaching...we'll that would be a shock. But not impossible.

The Bills have a few plugs to fill. I really don't think Trent Edwards is the answer. As for the coaching I agree with you lol.

I never said he would not be good, but they are saying he will win the rushing title. That is ridiculous.

A: He is 31 years old
B: His offensive line is not near as good as the Phins fans think.
C: He will share time with Ronnie Brown. (Who I think is better)
D: Chad will cause 8-man fronts. Thats not good for running production.

It is just crazy to think he could win the rushing title. And the thread is multiple pages. haha.
